Anybody tried the Helibar Risers, seen someone had mentioned the Genmar risers for 08 VFR 800.
Any suggestions on taller windshield ?

    Just my 2p.

Yes loads of us have fitted Helibars onto vtec VFRs. Ages back someone posted an illustrated step by step Helibars fitting guide, which is well worth reading (the one supplied with the kit is not brilliant) and includes a simple solution to the one challenging task removing and transferring over the dampers.

If you can afford the money, Helibars offer the best gain in terms of allowing a more upright ride position which really reduces wrist loads on longer runs. Its your choice - I originally tried the cheaper Genmar units which simply raise the bar straight up, but I found I still had too much wrist load as I was still stretching forward to reach them. I am so happy that I decided to sell them and fitted Helis instead, as they also bring the bars back towards you. I was astonished how that small change made a huge difference in terms of comfort especially on longer runs, so well worth the extra spend. But its your choice and if funds are tight, then maybe see if the Genmar risers do enough, as you can always sell them on like I did.

As for screens, there several out there, including (at least in Europe) a taller touring oriented screen variant from Honda. NB some aftermarket screens are designed for track use only and not certified for road use, so be careful. Not being tall, I find the stock screen is plenty big enough. But if you search for screen comparisons, you should find a thread with side-by-side photos and dimensions of the commonly available screen options, and rider assessments of their merits. Again the best choice depends on you, what works for one rider may not be ideal for another.

When it comes to buffeting, I found choosing a practical aerodynamically effective helmet was of greater importance. However there seems to be no clear relationship between helmet price and performance. OK all helmets have to pass the necessary safety tests, but some of the most expensive seem to be more about brand endorsement and style, rather than function. I guess its no surprise that a helmet really designed from a race perspective may more prone to buffeting and wind noise, than far cheaper brands which are designed for real day to day street use even if they lack endorsement by Stoner etc.

    Great advice!
I happen to have the Genmar risers and they seemed to be all I needed.
You will have no problem moving them on if they don't do the trick for you.
For me, they were the answer.
