Hey so i just bought a 92 VFR for $550, it's a bit banged up.. It looks like i'm going to need new guages, front fairing(and light) clutch/brake levers, and ignition switch/gas key... So far that seems to be the only issues. This is my first bike and i honestly have no idea what i'm doing... Any idea where i can find parts? Or how much you think the parts will be all together?

I give you credit, dude. Love the screen name.

Prices can range all over - from keeping your eyes on e-bay to looking at aftermarket Chinese parts, if that's your thing (but be warned on ordering Chinese parts!!)

I'm guessing this bike was crashed by the looks and description you gave? Before you get into ordering parts and such, does it run? Where has it been stored? inside or out? rust in the tank? Are the forks straight?

That's a sweet 8 spoke rear wheel that you have there.

So this is your first bike and you haven't ridden anything else before?

Have fun, look on ebay and enjoy the wait.

Hey, welcome to the family. I just tore down a 93 VFR so have all of the little, small parts you need. If you pay for shipping you can have them. I'm too lazy to try and sell them and would love to donate them to your cause at putting another 3rd gen back on the road.

Here's what I have - it all works and is not broken:

    - guages (62,000 miles showing)
    - Headlight (not cracked)
    - Brake / clutch res I think still has the levers on them.
    - I think I have the front turn signals
    - Gas tank and ignition switch with one key
    - lots of other little bits you might need, just ask.

PM me if this stuff will help.

REEK, you da man. Very nice.

Anyone got any front fairings, fixable, lying around? Maybe a set of airtech fiberglass ones he could make work?

Come to think of it, I take back my offer for donation.... Even though I don't foresee needing any of the parts... a six pack of some Lagunita IPA would probably be the price.

Anyway, working all weekend. Got your PM, will call you and figure out what you need and a time to meet. Let the fixin' begin!

Did you get all the parts you need? I have a few extras that I would be willing to sell for cheap.

The guy that had it was trying to run from the cops, and wrecked. Right now i'm just not going to worry about fairings and run it naked. My 2 major things i need to do now is find out why my front brakes aren't working, and get mirrors. Then i can get it registered and stuff (it has to pass the brake and light inspection). And i have a 55w/60 headlight to put on it. I'm thinking about getting integrated turn signals, so i dont have to get mirrors then turn signals too
