First, let me apologize if this thread gets a little wordy! With that said, I'm trying to gather what people did/do to get rid of the horrific, large, balky, fender behind the license plate? I've noticed there's a metal plate for the plate/light assembly. Can you simply remove the plastic piece and use the mount for the light/license plate? I'd like to keep the light, obviously due to law, and get rid of the plastic piece. I'm not trying to spend a lot of money on a fender eliminator kit; however, I haven't really shopped any either - if you have recommendations on a good kit please share (something for under $200 hopefully - I say that cause I'm getting ready to put new 2 Bros slip ons...on). Or do people simply dremel the bottom off?

I appreciate any and all info!

I let loose with the Dremel raised the numberplate light and epoxy glued the reflector to the back of the numberplate light so it still meets all local rules.

Somewhere on VFR World there's a post by one of our Australian members who did the "elimination" without buying any aftermarket kit. As far as the CW Eliminator kit You might find them less that $60 on eBay, but not much less. They take around 20 minutes to install.

Competition Werkes kit is very nice! I wouldn't cut up anything, unless you plan to keep the bike forever. Nice bike you found, enjoy!

Thanks for the info fella's - and I picked up a Comp kit from a guy out in North Carolina. Actually, I should see it today. Got it for $49 with tax. I'd actually like to support this guy cause he was very helpful (getting a set of Leo Vince's from him also). Give Brad a call at Superbike Supply for all your aftermarket OEM parts ;)! Tell him some "Hoosier" sent yah!

LOOK at free fender eliminator. It is really easy with only cost being some of your own spare time and COMPLETELY reversible if you take care!!!!

If you buy an eliminator, I'LL buy your stock fender if it will fit my 02 bike.

I appreciate the offer and will keep that in mind. The guy I purchased the bike from kept everything he took off though (I have the factory hard bags, wind shield, etc). If you don't mind - why do you want the factory pcs?

Also, it's funny everything about the "free el" job. I talked to my guy and said, well look behind the plastic - looks like you can utilize that metal bracket since it's holding the light..etc. Guess I was right just don't tell my GF that cause I'm always wrong

Seriously, just thought about - will installing the CompW kit screw up the mounts for my factory hard bags or can you still mount the bars onto the bike (bars that support the bags)?

I used TC's kit. But I put it on backwards. However, after some bending (I have a hammer and a vise) it worked out very well, complete with tail light. I will have to live with TC's inability to believe I can do anything correct with my bike. I'm crying my eyes out. Well, at least I can get thinner: TC will be ugly until the day he dies.

Looking for stock lower fender to use for Givi rack mount, I already have the Givi bags, but there mount will not work unless I have the stock lower rear fender.
