Welcome man. All your issues are mainly in your head. I live in New Orleans (where its 120 degrees at night anyways) and am running hot on the bike all day. Like people said, though, the fan always comes on right around 222 degrees.

Revs are fine, too man. I am at 6k doing 85 in 6th so 5k for 70 sounds right.

You'll find a lot of threads about tires on here, but I just did this recently, too. Seemed like everyone was sold on Pilot PR2s and Pirelli Angel STs with a few people chipping in about other randoms. I got the PR2s on my 6th gen and they are awesome...

Yeah you are right....After getting it plated yesterday I spent a couple hours on it and she runs and rides like new  The fan comes on when needed and everything seems in order. Getting some Angel ST's installed on Friday, changing the oil/filter and I will flush the coolant and replace with engine Ice and she will be good to go. After getting more time on it I can honestly say I am going to love this bike! It is more comfy than I expected and just has a nice solid, torquey feel :) Oh, and the sound from that staintune exhaust is pretty intoxicating too, hehehe:biggrin:

Aight!!! I also have a 2k VFR and love the Bike. Mine has a little over 40k miles. The 2000 and 2001 are my personal favorite years for the VFR (even though the White 93 VFR is my vintage favorite). You got a Great deal for the mileage. 2k and 2001 VFRs are not easy to find with mileage under 20K. Yep the VFR does run hot - I use engine ICE in the summer and regular anti-freeze in the winter months in NYC. I would definately tell ya to have the antifreeze and brake fluid flushed if it has not already been done and then get some EBC brake pads and a Doudle Bubble windscreen. Also, check Wire My Bike for the much needed harness and regulator upgrade. I would also make sure the fork seals are not leaking and replace the OEM rear shock with a Honda 929 rear shock and spring for your weight. Another mod I would reccommend is get the Philips H4 bulbs. Enjoy the bike and be safe - welcome to the 5th Gen Crew!!!!

Thanks!!! Hmmm ....good call on the Hydraulic fluids I think I will have those flushed as well. I gave the bike a good going over and can't find any issues. Fork seals are good, charging is good. Suspension wise...I may make some changes down the road but it is okay for now. :) I am pretty happy with it!!
