I'm installing a VFRness from wiremybike.com and an R/R from Rick's Motorsport (p/n 10-126H) and have a question about the wiring between the two items. The 6-way connector on the VFRness has 5 wires populated in it the same way as the OEM 6-way connector. However, the R/R from Rick's Motorsport only has 4 wires in the same 6-way connector. Are the VFRness and the R/R from Rick's Motorsports compatible like that?

What's the fifth wire for and why isn't it needed for the R/R from Rick's? Will it be an issue for the relay and harness within the VFRness?

The wiremybike.com site makes the VFRness and also sells the Rick's R/R, so it seems they should be compatible, but it just seems strange this 4 vs. 5 wires isn't mentioned in the instructions with the VFRness (which are otherwise very good).

Here's the description of the R/R on the Rick's Motorsport website. It says the OE black wire connection is eliminated so it seems that it should be ok, but I'd just like to understand it better before I leave on a ~2,000 mile ride.
    "Product # (10-126H) Hot Shot Honda Rectifier-Regulator

Description: Hot Shot Honda Rectifier-Regulator: Designed with Mosfet technology; a cooler running rectifier-regulator. *Our design eliminates the use of the OE black wire."

    Thanks,

i'm guessing you have a 5th gen bike, but it helps to identify what year you're talking about?

there isn't a jumper between two of the connectors on the split going into the stock connectors? is it the GROUND side? or is it the power side?

I would hit up Tightwad (Joshua) from wire my bike himself for the info.
