I made a mod to my 'buster: the inside edge and corner pushed on just the wrong area of the heel of the hand. So used a heat gun to warm it up(OFF the grip) and a pair of flat-jaw pliers to give the 'wing' a little downward curve toward the inside; much better. Used the pliers at an angle

then twisted to get the curve

If you try this, that's a pretty tough polymer, you have to heat it quite hot before it'll bend and stay bent; and hold it for a few moments till it cools a bit. Pretty good memory, too; I gave mine a second heat to change the angle a bit and as it heated it straightened back up.

On my trip to California this spring, I moved mine right to the inside edge of my grip and used only the heel of my thimb which worked quite well. Then I put on a throttle lock which was a great improvement. When I had the paddle on originally, I had it on the outside edge of the handle grip and that was down right scarey. Thanks for the tip though.

I've got a throttle lock, which with a little tweaking works great. Last trip used both: the 'buster lets me relax the grip and just use some pressure on it to maintain throttle, and when need a real rest use the lock so can work the hand a while.

I liked it ok when on the open road, but it took some getting used to in town. A couple times I bumped it and lunged the bike...

Agreed. When I town i just turn it downward so its out of the way. Almost surged it into the back of a car once so I wont make that mistake again.

Nice mod re-bending it. i have 2 so I might just try this. :thumb:
