Honda wants over $50 for 3 gaskets.I feel I am getting raped.I am in the process of repairing my 1998 exhaust headers and don't really want to invest so much on gaskets.
    Is there a cheaper alternative?
    Thank you

Guys don't laugh I was thinking using several layers of cooking aluminum foil and apply thin layer of high temp silicone.
What do you think.Aluminum idea appeals to me since it is soft enough to mold and close any small surface irregularities.

That won't work. Go to auto parts store and ask for a muffler donut gasket. Alternatively they make a hi temp muffler version of JB weld. Same auto parts store.

spend the money and buy the gaskets, all of those other solutions are jethro engineering bs. It's not worth the headache you are going to end up causing yourself. BTW buy 4 of them and do it right.

Niiiiiiiice. Those compression seals can be a bugger to set cleanly with a less than perfect fitting header.

You can get exhaust connector gaskets on eBay for $10 ea. and copper or aluminum header gaskets for $2-5 ea.
