Just saw this on CL and wondered what the collective opinion on a Repsol VFR was. I'm sure they will be some who feel that if you want this look "buy a CBR" but on the other hand, there was a time when the VFR was the CBR of the day so.......

    Personally, I kinda like it.

Honda superbike vfr 800rr reposol edition MUST SEE low miles

    UP for me.
Black parts kind of slims the bike.
no details on mileage or valve inspection...
3200 is very reasonable if he already had valves done and bike's breaks, tires are in good shape.

I agree that the multicolor scheme slims the lines and the bike looks good in it. I have found one Repsol version that is yellow, instead of orange. I think that looks pretty nice too.

HA! That bike is twenty mins. from my house. Since its Wisconsin you know it's not a year around bike. I myself would love to turn my VFR into a Repsol bike. The rims need to be all orange.

The lines of the decals compared to the lines of the bike look cockeyed and the bare tank just doesn't do it for me. Meh............a mediocre wanna be.

Lived there from '76 to '84, My grandmothers grandfather founded BrownDeer, The Park is the original Homestead.
My mother & siblings still live in & around Milwaukee. Originally from Sheboygan, moved back there till '98, when I moved here to southern Indiana.

I like it except for the tank. The lines from the lower should have carried up across the tank.

No shit. I love Milwaukee. It's a small big city. It's like Chicago, but way smaller.

Having another look at it and I don't think we re seeing it at "its best" which is to say that the photography leaves something to be desired and it is freshly polished.

The owner obviously spent some time and $$$ getting it this way so my hat is off to him or her for trying something with a VFR that could be contentious. He decided to paint only a portion of the wheels and then polish the rest for the street bling obviously. Not for everybody that's for sure. I would prefer a black frame over polish and solid wheels without the polished lip. It would have been easier to do and easier to keep looking good as well. Thank god for diversity as it keeps things interesting!

The proportions of the 5th gen are interesting. It looks really stocky and short with bulges that infer a muscle car personality lurks beneath. Quite different that the 6th gen which is more chiseled with lots of sharp edges and it appears to be lighter. The fifth gen looks like a heavy solidly built bull dog in these pictures.

I'll give it a thumbs up, very nice, very unique! I agree with Rubo though, pretty good deal if well maintained and the valves have been done.

+1 for Wisconsinites! +1 for Sheboygan (surfing capital of the midwest ). +1 for unique livery. +1 for multi-colors thinning the bike's appearance. I have a FZ1 friend that told me that the tail fairing on my bike looked husky. Husky?! That word makes me think of my brother in middle school. This is why I love Tink's project 5th gen bike with 6th gen tail/exhaust. Anyone wanna buy my exhaust?

I'll be in the minority in saying that I don't like it at all. I don't care for the Repsol CBR's either so I'm predetermined not to like it I guess.

Isn't Milwaukee the place where they build those boat anchors that sort of look like motorcycles?
