As I continue,

I leave Santa Paula on Sunday May 13 and head backdown to Derstuka's Town Inn and Resort in Sna Clemente. Man I love this place. A real smaller town atmosphere here. And close to the beach and everything that goes with it. I get the grand tour around the sites by Stuke. I think I am going to take him back to the UFRR by force and appoint him as my Minister of Tourism and Recreation.

Anyway, we hit the Midway. Well, really we did not hit it but you get the picture. Stuke took and posted just about all the pix I had already but I have a few.

Haven't designed and built the rest to the aircraft yet though. i think this was the cockpit of an F4 Fantom but I c ould be corrected on that. It was quite tight. You certainly would not slip and slide all over your seat while flying that puppy

Today, I take it easy. Did a little riding around this neat place and ran a few errands. I even treated myself to a theraputic message to settle down the neck issue. Tomorrow it is off for another shorter half day ride. Stuke and his wife are working so it is solo. I will try to stop accassionaly and take some pix.

Today it was up to Lake Elsiner via the Ortega Hwy. Another nice clean winding road. Other traffic heading up was almost non exsistant. Stopped there long enought to have lunch then headed back. The lake wasn't anothing special to see but the ride was what this trip was all about. Stuke was working again so this was a solo trip.





Stuke and I searched all over trying to find a decent road map of California. Seems, none to be had these days. FOund one that was not too bad but it did lack some detail.

Tomorrow morning, I am on the road again. Derstuka and his lady have been great host and hostess. I love thi splace called San Clemente nestled quietly by the sea. If I were to move south, this could very well be the place aI would choose. But that is not likely to happen. I wouldn't be able to bitch about the rain if I did

hey randy. nice ride so far.. If you made it into ojai the fire that burned that place up was a few years ago. it ripped through Santa Barbara and surrounding areas.. there was another one farther inland as well... that whole area is frier than a popcorn fart during the summer.. the trip is looking good and R3 is right around the corner... have fun and be safe

 

I wanted a more tedailed paper map so it was one of those things where you have to open up the map and see if this map is what you want. But thanks anyways.

 

I think I remember seeing that on the news up north. Was a bad one wasn't it.

 

yeah it burned a shit ton of the area as well as a bunch (210) houses..at least in the SB area...we had four major fires in three years.

Well. I am now in Fresno and booked into the Marriot Town Place suite. Got a suite with a kitchenette. That is all they had. Am on my way to Yosemity and after discussions with my Minister of Tourism and Travel, aka Derstuka, it was decided that I would not likely get a site in Yosemeti later in the day so best to take off here very early in the morning and stand in line at the First come FIrst Served there. No pix this time.

 

As soon as you enter the gate there is a camp site on your left I beleive it Wanona. First come first serve and right next to the river. Very nice location but abit far from the valley. Have fun and be safe.
