Wondering how it would look. Don't want to ruin open feel as the bike has eliminator kit, just spewing road grime over tail & pipes. Thought carbon fibre(faux?) might look OK. Any thoughts? Vendors with good ones etc...

    thanks dudes.

Looking at the bike, don't think it will look good on right side hanging all out there in the breeze! Thanks anyhow.. I'll keep cleaning:yo:

I know it's on a 5th Gen, but if you lighten the photo abit you can see the unsupported right side of the hugger.. This one is a Pyramid black ABS hugger.

Here the pic of my on my 5th gen. I'm not wild about how it attaches to the front end of the swingarm, but it does its job of keeping crap off the Penske shock. I may trim it back at some point.

It's a mini fender that "hugs" the rear wheel near the front of the swing arm. It' main purpose is to keep crud off the shock. Some are longer and do more.

Look at the black fender thing pic in this link.

Make a pricy but beautiful CF Hugger for the VTEC VFR's. Just got mine. Once I've done the install I'll be happy to send you pics of it with the fender eliminator kit as well...

That looks pretty cool... has anyone ever seen anything like that for a 1st gen?

It might look a little more normal with the regular old swingarm.

Even though I know there's no such thing as parts for a first gen... :)

Hey - does that hugger stay in place and out of the way of the tire? I am constantly pulling my hugger out away from the tire. On the front end of it it is heald by a big zip tie thingy. I am not entirely happy with it.

So what do you think of yours?

Mine stays put pretty well. I haven't had any issues with it moving or anything. I used zip ties in the front as well, so far, so good.
As far as the exhaust goes, I modified the stock pipes after removing the stock mufflers with a little bit of stainless tube and added these 16 inch chrome tapered mufflers and the R1 heat shields mounted backwards. I had to fabricate a bracket to hold the heatshields in place but everything went fairly easy. I have had 4 different exhaust systems including lasers and remus and these are by far my favorite. The lightest of all and deepest tone also. Slightly louder but not by much.
