It doesn't look like any of the regulars use the blog section. Instead it seems to be a trap for people unfamiliar with the forum who make a blog entry looking for help that never gets answered.

I really don't understand the confusion but it is what appears to be happening.

    WTF is a blog anyway???

Hmmm..... I guess you learn something new every day.

A "blog" is a portmanteau of the term "web log".

A "portmanteau" is a word or morpheme whose form and meaning are derived from a blending of two or more distinct forms.

A "morpheme" is the smallest semantically meaningful unit in a language.

"Semantics" (from the Greek semantika) is the study of meaning. It focuses on the relation between signifiers, such as words, phrases, signs and symbols, and what they stand for, their denotata.

A "denotata" is an actual object referred to by a linguistic expression.

A "signifier" is a symbol, sound,or image (as a word) that represents an underlying concept or meaning.

Ah crap! Thanks a lot Tink. :mmph:

I'll be sure to send you a check for using all those $3 words. Now lay down and realize when someone is using sarcasm. (Note to self. Sarcasm does not translate well through text.)

+1, never done one, rarely peek at them. Mainly get ingnored by me because the only place attention is called to them is on the home page, which I pretty much skip right over.

I think we tend to use the threads section as a blog.
We could undergo a massive retraining of the faithful
to increase the use of the Blog section, but I suspect it would be all for naught

I have to say I find it easier to find information in our threads than in most blogs.

I have no say in the matter but thought I would throw the thread out there. I see a lot of blogs where new people ask for help, get ignored, and never come back. Not a good way to encourage a healthy growing community.

I agree. The Blogs were a great idea, because it allows users to more of an online diary type of thing, but in practice, beside's Reg's great updates, they have mostly got used incorrectly. I disabled them for now, let me know what you think.

It was a dark and stormy night when my latest jo-jo jones hit me like a wet noodle from an upset bowl of Top Ramen that some harleydood was trying to eat with a fork.
