After almost two years without a V-4 under me, I now have a very clean 2002 VFR. I benefited from the efforts of Jethro911, who imported the bike from the states this spring. Other priorities got in the way and he never plated it and decided to sell it. Lucky me!

It's bone stock except for a K&N filter, sliders, knock-off levers and Heli-bars. It has a mere 7,000 miles on it and was obviously well cared for. It also has brand new Michelin Pilot Power tires on it. I haven't even scrubbed them in yet because it been too cold the three rides I have had (28, 32, 40!).

It has been down on both sides, seemingly at low speeds, judging by light scratching at the typical contact points. If there was damage on the fairings they have been repaired and repainted or replaced because they're in great shape. No big deal considering the overall condition of the bike.

It still has a lowering kit on it from two owners ago. Jethro has the stock parts on order and we are going to swap the parts in the next few weeks.

    Here's some pics:

Again, it looks great. Are you planning any other modifications? Now that I've put a Power Commander on my '07 to fix the FI issues, I almost see that as a necessity.

A PC is a possibility. I need more saddle time to assess, but so far I have no complaints other than working around/with the V-tech engagement.

I wish Delkevic made exhausts for the 6th gen. I had them on on my 919 and they looked great, sounded great and cost under $300 shipped for the pair! It seems everything available for the 6th gen is too small or space age looking for my taste, except the Staintunes. I haven't looked at the Remus yet though. Must google now...

The PC will also help smooth out the VTEC engagement. It's a win-win.

Welcome to VFR World, Crobertson. Use the forum search feature to search power commander in the 6th gen forum. If you still have questions, it's best to post it as a separate thread instead of in another one on a different topic. More people will see it and be able to answer you. Good luck!

Your red '02 looks great! Matches the car in the driveway. Curious, those exhaust heat shields look to have been polished out. Is this so? More info.? They give the bike a "clean" look!

I thought they were stock. Are they usually a brushed stainless look instead? I never noticed.

They were put on by a previous owner, so I have no history on them. I do know that they work because it's been down on the right and there is wear on it to show. I can't say if it saved having scrathes on the fairing because i think it was replaced at some point.

They had to mod the coolant overflow for the slider to go through on the left, by the looks of it.

    Yeah.
It is not stock. Motovation makes those for VFR800 with cost abt $80 a pair.
At my place, there quite numbers of Motovation frame sliders for other sportbikes, not VFR800.
So that why I was asking if you could utilize some types from other bikes.

I hadn't noticed either. It sat in my garage for about three weeks or so and I never had much time to look that close.

BTW The parts are at the border now so I will grab them one evening this week and we can plan to get you elevated!
