I am thinking of installing a mod oil kit on my VF750. The bike has 26,000km and I want it to last. Where do I get one and will it make a difference when installed.

Not a fan of the mod myself. Would rather have all my oil directed at the crank as a failure there is fatal and you can repair top end problems with a little effort.

+1 to the comments above. Have you looked at your cams? Do they show any lobe surface degradation? If they don't, just stay the course, use good oil products, and maintain the valve clearances. If they show damage, you're better off replacing the cams than installing an oil mod. I had a gen 1 (VF1100S) that went 156K miles with no cam issues whatsoever, so it isn't automatic that you'll have a problem.

No I haven't. It is making a ticking noise when it is hot. I was told that this bike is known for noising valve train and the dealer I took it to said not to worry about without even looking at it. My Dad has a 1985 Magna V45 that bike it is so quiet and he drives the crap out of it.

I call BS on the dealer. It's the old line of "they all do that" bullshit just to move it.

Now it's most likely a valve adjust or cam chain tensioners. Adjust the valves first to a loose .005-.006 medium drag". That will keep you in a safe cam place. The oil mod is the "buzz" of the V4 gen 1 world. People do it because it's the thing to do. Even though the cams are fine after 20k,30k miles. Which indicates no problem with oil starvation. Quality is another question. May be a smart thing to do if your drag racing constantly like the originator of the kit was. Though it still doesn't prove it's the cure for a problem that may have several points of failure and needs attention to detail about oils and maintenance.

If you do, do the oil mod, find the type that has the adapter at the filter like for adding an oil cooler. Do not tap in to the main oil galley.
