I made it. Randy here speaking Longanese. These freeways in California just go on and on and on. There is no way I was going to make it from CAnada to Mexico in 24 hours. Hell, it was 19 hours just from Canada to Sacramento. And I left Sac at about 08:00 this morning and did not arrive in Long Beach until around 15:00 So that is another 7 hours on top of the 19 from Canada. CHP were definately out there but they did nto get me. Thought I might have got caught a few times but I guess they had their tolerances set higher today. Anyways Long and I are out for a dinner then we will look at maybe Mexico.

Hey Randy. Was sitting here thinking about your IBA challange and thought I'd see if I could find an update on the web (wasn't too difficult!)
Glad to hear you made it down there OK, even though you got no badge.

    Cheers!

Oh, thanks for the reminder. Terri picked them up and said they looked really good. I am supposed to send her the list for sorting and your address.

Well, the Canadian Mounty and California Rice King were detained at the Mexican border yesterday as the Prime Minister himself was sufficiently strip searched, poked and prodded... not sure if I was supposed to tell ya that, but hey, we're all family!! So, they didn't make it to my house last night as planned. They went to Long's partied all night there with the senioritas they smuggled over last night... not sure how they got them over the border, since they were on bikes and one of them was searched in the buff... uh... Mr. Rice King, where did you hide them?

Anyway, for real, I got a message from Long this morning and they are on their way to Vegas... also, I was given instructions to find a right mirror as Randy apparently has dropped his bike... There is nary a mirror to be found in Vegas for a 6th gen VFR so I may have to JB Weld and Gorrilla tape my stock ones, put them on my bike and give my good, cheap knock offs to Randy for the rest of his trip. I'll just order a new set of cheapos and have them here next week. When they arrive, they plan on connecting with Y2KViffer (Dave) who happens to be here visiting from South Carolina. I went to In N Out Burger with him and his lovely girlfriend Tammy last night. When I get outta work, I'll see if I can find these guys anywhere and we'll keep ya posted. Prostitution is legal in Nevada so who knows what kinda fun our two travelling terrors will encounter!! I'm gonna try to get them over to the BMW Open House tomorrow. They are doing free demo rides and I sure wanna try out the S1000 RR. I've ridden 18 of them already at slow speeds and lubed the chains of 18, but haven't been able to ride one at a normal speed... would be nice to test one out.

    Stay tuned!!

Thank you Chicky. Now that the who world knows I have a tender butt, both outside and in.

Yeah. I dropped the bike. Was at a stop and it started going over. I had about 150 pounds of gear stowed on the bike so that was one hell of a lot of weight and I just could not stop it so down it went and the right mirror daintily rolled along the gutter. Long was ahead of me but he realized soon enough I was not behind him and he came back to find me and help me lift it back on its wheels. He only rode for 3/4 an hour before he realized Randy was not behind. JK
And that nice new paint and decals....not so nice and new anymore. We tried the jiffy weld stuff in Long Beach bit the stuff they had was not what was needed and did not hold. But Long did leave a hint of that yellow shit dripping all over my front fairings.

Drove to Las Vegas with just the left mirror. Can't say I liked that but we made it. Pulled into Chickie's complex and went over a bump and the bike died. Battery deader than Elvis. I do have a brand new battery sitting on my bench at home but I was being very Scottish and was going to get every last minute I can out of this battery. Should have put the new one on before I left the Wack. But we push started it and got it ti Chickie's and put it on the trickle and it seems to be fine now. Will see how that goes but I will probably get a new one somewhere here.

Mirror is all glues up and we are hoping the weld will be dry enough and strong enough to hold at least up til Reggie's it not to get home where I will get a new one. I now need new paint and decals....again...when I get home. Phoned the wife and told her what I have gone through here so far. What what was previously reported by others here is not too far from the truth. It was truly heart warming about the concern that Stuke and Long showed me while I was being violated at the border.

Stay tuned.....Maybe I should start another thread rather than highjacking this one. But all my problems are Reggie's fault cause if he wasn't having this damned BBQ, none of this would have happened to me.

I am one very lucky dude. I can;t think of anyone here who has as much luck as I do. Just wished my luck had a different slant.

That Firestone Lager is sounding pretty good right now.

Mr Prime Minister: I enjoyed the opportunity to be your security escort to ole Mex, via the scenic route. Too bad about the grande anal probe sir....I really thought that was just a flash light they were using on you. Sorry I could not swing Vegas this time. Oh, and muchas gracias for the cup!

    Ole Mex...

Yeah... It rings a bell. Hmm, I'm sure we could search the historical archives or something. And don't worry about thread-jacking me Randy. Everyone knows I am the worst about rambling off on any old topic in whatever message thread I happen to be in. I'm like the dogs on up...

    squirrel?

Anyway, heading to hawaii Friday. Back in a little over a week. Getting some new rubbers and then I'll be ready to ride. Randy, you stopping in at the casa de VFR on your way up? Drew, Brian, and I all have our VFRs down in Lompton now so there will be some riding going on before the riding is going on I'm sure...

Oh, and we have the firestone in the fridge all the time...

I figured this is the place to ask. How many So. Cal riders are heading up to R3 this year? What's your plan?
