Hi well I had a guy who said he cleaned the carbbs and replaced the front and rear tire, we had the bike running great without the gas tank using a bottle and when we put the tank on it was bogging down , so i ran some seafome trough it and then put tank back on and it runs great sometimes but sometimes the motor bogs down like its either getting to much gas or not enough i am no macanic but im sure if you know these bikes it might be a air flow issue, where are you located?

Was this "bottle" feeding fuel to the engine via a pump of some sort, or did you just gravity feed the engine?

I ask because it sounds like you may be bypassing the fuel pump when the tank is off and thereby eliminating your problem. I'm not sure if you can remove the pump on those and have it run good like you can the 500's. Somebody with more knowledge of your bike will be along shortly to say though. Also, I assume you have removed the filter so as to make sure it's not clogged or clogging after running for a bit. Having an intermittent air flow problem into the intake is really not gonna happen unless there's something floating around in the air box blocking things off.

    Jesse,

Not an expert, but I'm just below Smyrna and have some experience with the VFR in particular and motorcycles in general - be glad to lend a hand and see if I can come up with anything.
