Hello, everyone! A quick introduction: I'm Philip and I have a sweet 4th gen VFR750 and live and ride in the Seattle area. The history of my bike is kinda interesting. Bought it from a gentleman who posted it on Craigslist with 25k on the odometer and a brand new rear tire for $2200 bucks. Seemed a bit steep but it was in perfect condition and brand new rear tire on it, so I thought "what the hell?" since I had been bike-less for several years after having crashed out my previous 93 VFR in 2001. I purchased the bike in April of 2010 and later that year the suspension began to get soggy until one Sept. day I bottomed out the rear going across a bump *just* before crossing the metal expansion joint of a bridge. The joint ripped a 1/4 inch hole in the exhaust collector at the bottom of the bike. Tried to patch it but it was no good. So during the winter months I bought a new collector from Delkevic to replace the torn collector. At the same time, I decided to replace the rear shock, since it needed rebuilding which would be expensive. My mechanic suggested we try replacing it with a unit from a CBR900rr, along with new fork springs/fluid from Race Tech for the front. This work was done in April 2011. The rear shock works very well and since I'm a bit heavier than I used to be it gives me adjustability that the stock shock did not provide. My mechanic reported that the Delkevic canister was a royal bitch to install. The stainless steel unit looks great but doesn't really offer any performance gains and is hella expensive but it'll last as long as the bike, so I think it was worth it. I had tried to find other canisters on Craiglist/Ebay and actually almost got burned by some dick in S. Carolina but I eventually got my money back. Needless to say, this was a very expensive suspension upgrade but it was well worth it! The bike rode like it was brand new! Now, a year later it still rides very, very well and I'm very happy with it. If anyone is in the Seattle area, look me up for a ride!

Not sure how or where to post a pic, so let me know!

Yes, well I'm sure there's an FAQ around here somewhere that'll show you how to do that. In 'Advanced' mode (when you're posting) you have the option of uploading images as 'attachments' (find the 'Manage Attachments' button), or - optionally - you can post a pic that is already uploaded somewhere else (eg. facebook, etc.) by using the 'Insert Image' tool (next to the 'insert video' tool that looks like a filmstrip above the posting window). You will need to have the URL for the image if you do it that way.

Welcome to the zoo lad! Now figure out that image posting thing, because :worthless:

Welcome to the site. There are actually several how-tos in this one place: VFRworld News

But in general if you use the advanced search you can narrow it down usually to what you need. There is a learning curve with our search tool, but it's usable...barely. ;)
