    Dear Forum,

I am now looking to get some new 'tourning' boots as I have worn through the toes of my Alpinestars.

What boots do you wear and would you recommentd them?

I was looking at either the SIDI Black Rain, STRADA Rain or Dry Road Rain or Alpinestar Alpha touring WP boots.

    Any recommendations?

I like the TCX brand, I have two different pairs of TCX boots (Jupiter 2 XCR and S-Zero). Both pairs are waterproof but I have yet to really test that part of them out, but the quality and fit I really like. The Jupiter pair I bought first and they are the ankle high boots that look more like street shoes when poking out from under the trousers. The S-Zero pair I bought recently and they are a full size boot. I've had the Jupiter pair from at least a year now and no issues with premature wear and tear. I ride with these more than the full length, because i use them for going to job sites and don't want to "scare" the locals. I know that they have a pair of touring boots, you might check them out.

    Cheers.

I wasn't aware of this brand until recently.
Thanks for the info, I'll check them out in more detail.

The thing I have noticed is that one the whole, you get what you pay for, though I can't see myself spending more than about £150 on a pair!

    Regards

    Steve

If you have narrow feets, Alpinestars & Sidi are the way to go. If you have wide feets, TCX are better. I tried on about 15 pairs of boots before I settled on my TCX's. I have wide feet with fallen arches. The TCX's are almost comfortable enough for walking around in.

If you have the cash & want a pair of boots that can do everything, the TCX Infinity is hard to beat.

    KC-10 FE out...

I actually do walk around in them a lot, well in the Jupiter pair anyway. Some times I wear them when it's cold and raining and not riding the bike (Not that often in So. Cal but on occasion). I also have a pair of SIDI Cobra boots that I bought them before I found a deal on the TCX S-Zero, but they are Red to match the Duc. Oddly, the TCX Size 41 = US Size 8 but the SIDI Size 41 = US Size 7.5, I ended up buying the SIDI Size 42 (8.5), as it is recommended to go up in size rather than down, hence the TCX fit me much better.

In the UK, the first thing that usually packs in with all the salt on the roads is the zips. I'm now using Daytona Journey XCR and they are great. No zips, 100% dry, very breathable and softer leather than a lanolin soaked coo.

I've had these AXO boots for about a year now and they are holding up very well.
Good for walking in too. They are now on sale! Only see a size 9 but great price anyways!

If the Alpinestars are comfy then the Sidi's may be too narrow. I have a pair of the Alpinestars Net Air and they fit just fine, but the Sidi boots are just a tad too narrow for my fat feet. I had a pair of the Sidi Strada before and they really started to hurt after a couple hours, just not comfortable for all day wear. The Alpinestars fit me much better and are coooler to boot (pun intended).
