parked at Tubes and Hoses guy's shop for custom brake lines.

Project so far over budget that I only sprung for new hoses on the rear. Hoping that going with steel braided lines on the rear does not noticeably offset the balance of the linked system with rubber still in the front.

It will upset the balance Tink. But not so much that you will really notice since you're going to tour this bike. Not trying to tell you what to do......

Good bargain. $170 to get the custom lines done. He figured $200-$250 to do all the fronts and clutch if I pull them off and bring them in for replicas. Hopefully this next winter....

So here's the stock steel lines cut and spliced with new to route better with new subframe mounts and rear master location
    [IMG]

Rear master with lines now and the header wrap installed. I'm waiting on the brake light pressure switch to arrive on Monday before I can bleed the system.

And the purdy new braided lines

    Looks good man!

Oh, and hey... I was just being a wise ass with that budget comment. I know how these things tend to grow and it's not fun when it exceeds what you expect.

I have set aside $3,000 for VFR and 954 repairs and upgrades. We will see how that goes...

    Sorry about my smart-assed comment.

I can ship you a set of fronts I have sitting in a box. That way you don't have to tear yours down and wait.

That would be a big help. I was thinking of buying the braided line right away because each run of hose comes in with a different shade of color. Having a donor set would allow me to buy the right amount of line right away. It would also make installation much easier as opposed to trying to match up to photos.

^^ well he seemed a lot bigger than your normal rabbit until I went back and watched the video

Here's my mounting of the RR. Had to drill a hole in the heat sink to clock the RR in such a way as to clear the bend in the aluminum fairing mount bracket.

Rode to Denver and back today without any problems. I have a minor fuel leak at the fuel level sensor mount flange o-ring. Just have to mount the ECU and I can put her clothes on.

Have you thought about stick coils? It might clean it up a bit.

Then again, you a probably ready to be done with the project, eh?

won't see them when the plastic is installed and any more time spent in the garage with this thing and I'm liable to find myself in divorce court.

Hopefully I'll have photos to unveil in the next two weeks.

Fabrication and even engine work is one thing but electronics and wiring looms, now that takes serious bravery. Well done man!
