I guess this comment is the best deterrent. Pricks rarely forget or find fault on their actions. We're bound to cross paths sooner or later, or worse, they may retaliate on the rider behind me. I did install a set of Fiamms and will continue to use the universal finger to show off my disappointment.

Thanks to all preachers as well. I was reminded to go to church more often.

Amen. I know somebody who's waiting for his moment to repay somebody for a very foolish move. Be aware of sweet revenge.

The hardest thing I ever had to learn was to pull over and let them pass. Piss them off and they WILL run you down. That's just the way attention hungry society is today. Oooh, follow them to their destination, wait until they leave the car and decorate it with a hammer. You do carry a traffic cop with you, don't you?

8 Track, aint that the truth-is it worth it, maybe at that moment and time----My anger just takes over sometimes being a heavy hauler for so many years and dealing with the brain dead-or now I call them the driving dead--- that I have to stop, think and just pull over and let the ignorant ass wipe pass me (tail gaters) they pass by and flip me the bird like I did something wrong. Its getting harder and harder with all these young punks on the road that are being brought up by single parents
(mostley women)that dont teach there bastards and bastages any kind of respect for anyone.Last summer going to work had this mini van change lanes , almost hitting me with out even a glance over her sholder and after I hit my stebel horn almost making her make an instant right off the freeway, she actually pulled along side me to were I could touch her door and sarted pushing me over to the double yellow to my left (diamond lane here in Cali) and you know how those pin heads drive? mach 2. So my point is, I really dont know-Just act always like there on there F**KING phones and dont see you when ever your on the road- Sorry for the ramble, three shot of Tequila might be the problem -JMO- My mato-pay backs a BITCH, and you will never know when she comes

Well, if they're trying to push you over into the oncoming traffic, in my book, that's attempted murder. My book also says an eye for an eye.

To be honest, I've never been in that situation, because I simply do mach three and leave them in the dust. They'll get tangled up with somebody else; it's not personal, they drive like that around everybody. NOW... in stop and go traffic, I've been in a few situations where the kickstand has come down and I was ready to fight, since I was already looking at death. When a man is that angry, the cager always and without exception gets back in their car and leaves.

If you can get away from the danger, get away from the danger. You're not going to make a difference in their demented mind.

A few weeks ago I entered a two lane roundabout, when the vehicle in the lane next to me decided (without indicating) that he was going to drift into my lane. And I mean all the way into my lane. I had my thumb on the horn and the other hand on the brake, yet this asshole kept right on coming. When we got through the roundabout he then moved back into his original lane.
I pulled up along side him and gave him finger. The motherfucker knew he had fucked up but just gave me a little wave. That driver has no idea how close he came to having me follow him home and beat the living shit out of his Chinese ass.

The thing that got my goat about my situation is that I pulled to the shoulder and called 911 and told the operator exactley that, attempted murder. They told me to go to CHP and fill out a report---I hand the shmuck behind the counter my report with the licence # and he comes and he comes back and tells me the licence came back SHERIFF- so he tells me NOW to go to the Sheriifs and fill out a report-NEVER HEARD FROM THEM AGAIN after calling 6-7 times to find out WTF--- guess they dont care that one of there own tried to kill someone---oh, and it was a mini van with three kids and a bitch driving

I haven't read the whole thread, so I hope this hasn't already been said.

So there are two ways I look at stuff like this.

1.- Everybody and I mean everybody will screw up driving at one time or another. With 1000 cars on the road I would think may be at least 10% of them are having their screw up time/day driving stupid. So I for give them and just say "dumb-ass".

2.- With my past racing experience, I try to keep my skills some what, which I feel are better than most drivers. From working with the public from time to time. I figure there are at least 10% assholes in every crowd. So if you have 1000 cars on the road you have at least 100 assholes to deal with. When that time comes I do what ever and then say to myself "DUMB-ASS" and keep going.

It's my job as a driver/rider to spot these DUMB ASSES before they find me. It's a nice little game and I always win. Thought wise that is. Makes me not get angry. JMO

That's not to say there are not exceptions to everything. I can lose my cool but it takes a hell of a lot anymore.

As others have said, there is almost nothing we can do about cage drivers - distracted, lost, mad, bad, ignorant, dangerous, etc... - other than do our best to avoid them.

The loud horns are a good idea for some situations, but I have seen that lead to an ignorant a** going brake - gas happy (you know, floor it, slam on the brakes, floor it, slam on the brakes, weaving, etc.).

Loosing your temper on the bike (and in a cage too) is a recipe for disaster - one of my MSF instructor friends always said to avoid Mad, Sad, Glad, etc. Strong emotions are distracting.

My wife frequently reminds me that most people aren't driving like a**holes on purpose - they might be lost, had a bad day at work, are daydreaming, or they may just have really poor driving skills, etc.

Years ago, I was run off the road by a guy on purpose - and all I did was pass him - he was going 40 in a 55. Next thing I know, he is on my rear tire - I start to pull off on the exit ramp, he passes me, whips in front, and slams on the brakes, and I being a much less experienced rider, skidded the rear tire, let off the locked rear brake, high sided, and ended up sitting on my bike as it slid on the asphalt exit ramp - watching him pull back out onto the road, and go on his merry way.

As riders we must keep our wits about us, because many of the others on the road just may not be paying attention. When we wake them from their slumber with a horn or a middle finger, or something else they frequently get angry. Most people just don't want to think they have done anything wrong - and they take it out on the messenger.

Following somebody home or to their next stop can get you killed (period, end of story). :chaingun:

The best you can do (duccman's experience excepted) is use your phone and report the bad behavior.

Prayer is good too. I may write one to fit this particular situation. Anybody that wants to toss in a stanza or two is welcome.

Dear Lord up there in the sky please send me that chaingun. I have been asking for and some comforting words to Charley Manson who IMO is down deep a really good person who only needs to be shown some love and shit like that.

That doesn't happen here. The bitches in this country just give you a dismissive toss of the head, as if you are the one with the problem.
