My dad and I went to the movies last night to see 300 (good flick) and were treated to having our bikes Vandalized. We were parked together on the sidewalk near the bike rack with his bike on my left, both facing the left diagonally to the wall. we came out of the theater and his bike was leaning against mine. at first we thought everything was o.k. because there was no damage from his bike touching mine. Today in the light we noticed that his fairing is bent up on the left side and the paint on the mounting tabs is cracked. I don't think I have ever been so steamed in my life, and my bike wasn't even damaged! We are having seroius thoughts of camping out next Sat in some baseball uniforms to see if anyone wants to stay for battting practice:spy: :smash: :laser: :boom:

That's so senseless. I'd want to go Dirty Harry on them, too, but honestly, what are the chances of catching them?

I guarentee it was a jackass teenager... in my experience those are the ones who are capbable of doing major damage to stuff, while at the same time lacking the ability to fully grasp the consequences of their actions. I've had similar stuff done to my car here in Baltimore. Never my bikes, though.

One suggestion: Don't ride your bike to a movie theater. It's asking for trouble. Think about it... you're parking your bike and walking into a windowless building that everyone knows you aren't coming out of for 90-120 minutes. If they see you go in, they can be reasonably sure that you aren't coming back out for a while, which makes them bold. I knew a guy who got his CBR600 stolen this way.

The point of the matter is that shouldn't happen. If their willing to do that to some bikes just because they feel they can get away with it, whats next? Those people should be flogged.

Check to see if they had any hidden security cameras that might have caught the little sh*ts on tape...Now since the damage happened on private property ask for the buildings owners insurance to pay up..

My sister had her car broke into at a mall and she contacted the owners insurance company and they paid to replace the broken car window and the damaged steering column...the mall had 5 security vehicles & employees outside when it happened but they didnt see it ....

I agree with Zerosum, I would never take the VFR to a movie theater, because as sad as it is, In this day and age, it's just not safe.

With that said, it would ALMOST be worth it to catch someone messing with the VFR, because nothing in this world other than someone messing with my family, would fire me up more than seeing someone F#*k with my bike...

    1. M/C's are not liked @ Movie theatres becase they can park anywhere & close, while the cars go round & round looking for spaces (often just spit on the bikes & sometimes keyed, talking from experiance).
    2. I'd rather have my bike stollen than damaged, because stollen I'll just get another one, vandelled the bikes never are the same again.
    3. as said B-4, your giving a thief/vandel a large time frame to do there dirty deeds.
    4. take your Cage to the movies, may get messed with, but much less likely.

My 1966 Chevelle, in which I had just installed high performance 396 cu in engine and Muncie 4 speed trans was stolen from me while attending a movie theatre so know how you feel. This was some time ago but learned a hard lesson about what vehicle to take to the movies.

If it isn't a Mom & Pop place, chances are slim they will release any video to you without a court order.

it could have also been someone pissed that you were parking on the sidewalk, which is illegal in most, if not all, places
