    Hello all,
I just purchased a 1986 vfr700f2(I believe) white, square gauges, gold motor cover. I would like to change the oil and am wondering if anybody has any suggestions. Owners manual is on the way, but figured I would try here also. Pictures coming soon. Thank.

I just changed my oil and used rotella t 15w-40..I used it because after reading for a couple of days I found that a whole lot of people use it and have been satisfied with it for many years. I also have the Honda service manual for my 98 vfr800 and it recommends the Honda gn4 10w-40 but also shows a chart that says you can use other viscosity depending on the average temperature of your area. The chart overlaps 40-80 degrees F (about 5-30 degrees C) showing any of these would be fine:10w-30, 10w-40,20w-40,20w-50. I live in hawaii so I figure that 15w-40 would be fine in 70-80F average weather. I dont have a lot of experience, im just stating what the honda serivce manual says for my particular bike. I would assume your bike wouldnt be too incredibly different.
