I'm looking for information on where I can purchase a rear fender like the ones pictured.
I can not find any info on it & I'm not sure if it's a European option or aftermarket?
Anyone have any info on it?

What you are looking for is commonly called a "hugger". Lots of comments about avoiding the plastic ones that are easily found. You can get carbon fiber ones, but they are NOT cheap.

VFR800 1998-2001 Rear Hugger Mudguard with Chain Guard - Geelong Carbon Craft

The purpose of a hugger is to keep stuff from flying forward and mucking up the underside of the tail and (more importantly) to keep the shock, swingarm pivot area and back of the engine as free of debris as possible.

My bike has an undertail. It is color matched plastic and looks good, but the tire rubs. I have only seen huggers in pictures, but i don't think the typical design would work with the lack of clearance due to my undertail. If you have an undertail like mine, you might need to make something custom. I picked up a CBR600 carbon fiber hugger that I will mod. to fit. At $40, I couldn't resist.

I just bought some stuff from thurn-motorsport and they have the carbon fiber huggers/chain guards.
The price is 269 Euros. This where I got my hugger/chainguard when there was a group buy on the e-mail list many years ago. A quality item.

Pull up Google and in the search box type "Thurn Motorsport". The hit at the top of the list is their website and at the right of the entry you'll see in blue "Translate this page". Click on that link instead and it will pull up the website in English. It's not perfect, but pretty close.

Well ...... 269 Euro is still $350 US and then there's shipping.

    Too rich for my blood.

What about this hugger from the UK? I have it on my 2001 and it's really nice. The service from the team is very helpful and they sell loads, so the're tried and tested. It ain't real carbon fibre, but it looks good. Reasonable price and they ship worldwide.

That's the one I have and it's a quality unit. Be advised it doesn't really add much bling to speak of since it is black and just kind of blends into the rest of the black back there.

I've had mine for 7-8 years and it still looks good when cleaned up.

This was taken a couple years ago and it has hardly moved out of the garage since. I ride the VFR more but I bought the FJ new and just hate to part with it. The white rear wheel is from GSXR so I can use a 17" wheel, and the front is from a '92 FJ for the same reason. The Givi's work well with it but have only toured with them a couple times since I mounted them. It's got around 60,000 miles and most of those were put on before I bought the VFR in 2000. It's been to both coasts, and north to south including a couple jaunts to Canada. It is a great all-rounder.

Yeah, the hugger keeps the Ohlins looking nice under there. LOL
