Ok.. I mounted my Hindle CF high mount exhaust...
It went from this chunky garbage:

    To this goodness:

Oh boy, this exhaust is a lot sexier (sound and appearance wise)..

But now I have a small issue:

My boot touches the pipe a bit (and melts the f-ker):

The Hindle exhaust came with a whole shit load of extras (which freaked me out during install, because I had no instructions and a load of left over parts after I was done).

These was apart of the "extras":

It is definitely a heat shield.. but there is no apparent way of mounting it like this:

Someone mentioned just wrapping the pipe in this:

    What do you guys think?!

I have a spool of exhaust wrap too. Im planning on wraping the cat, and maybe a portion of the headder. I haven't put it on so I can't comment on how it works. but from talking to othe people that have used it, they say it works really well. They also mentioned that depending on how its wrapped, rust might be an issue. So that maybe something to watch out for.

There is a few dozen ways you could mount the heat shield. If you have access to a welder you could always tack a small washer to the pipe and then tack the heat shield to that.

Looks like you are missing the attaching straps. They look like two stainless steel hose clamps big enough to go around the pipe, but they would have had a little block of metal that you can attach the heat shield to. It looks like yours rivets the heat shield on. You can still make that happen with a stainless clamp and a small chunk of square tube stock. You cut two small pieces of stock about 1/4" long and drill a hole on one side. Rivet the steel to the back of the heat shield, so that you can thread the clamp through the stock and attach to your pipe.

I'm visual too, but I like picture of boobs.

Mata - you should just put your stock exhaust back on and send the Hindle to me. I have a club foot so I won't worry about burning my boot.

Thank you guys so much! I sent an e-mail to both Hindle and the vendor I purchased the exhaust from to see what they can do.. Maybe it should have been included and was just forgotten.

    We shall see!

I told ya already. Get some square tubing. You could use some aluminum stuff leftover from anything broken or head over to Home Depot and buy a stick of 1/2" tubing for
    $5.

Cut a piece about 1/2" long and run a stainless clamp through it. That attaches to the pipe and you drill a hole on top of the steel tubing. Attach the heat shield with a rivet and you are done.

I recon black heat wrap would look sweet. I didn't have the issue with my boot touching but wanted to remove the plate on the side of the bike.

Its relatively cheap. Its easy to do. I just had hose clamps at each end.

You MUST wear cloves and protective clothes. I wasn't aware of this when I did it and had shit in my hands for ages. Very annoying.

    Heat reduction is good.

Depends what look you want. Hope the info and pic help..
