I gotta tell you, I've gotten awfully spoiled by converting all my cars and bikes over to HID. They are wicked!! Got to ride the 12 on some dark, twisty backroads this evening and was wishing for some HID luvin' goodness. I found somebody selling a kit on Ebay UK that claims it's for the VFR12, but he makes some reference to having to shim the bulb due to clearance issues. Just wondering if anybody has tried it on this bike yet. If not, I may be the guinea pig. The difference that HIDs have made in all my vehicles is just unbelievable, and the kits are so darn cheap these days. Used to be you couldn't touch a decent HID kit for much under $500 bucks. Now you can buy them all day long for $50! Worth every penny. So, anybody been there, done that?

Checked on http://www.ddmtuning.com. That's who I've bought all my other HID kits from and they're fantastic and have lifetime warranty and uber-slim ballasts. $25 bucks for an HID kit for one beam only for the VFR (H7)! I'm gonna order one today, but want to look at some of the other bulbs on the bike first, as they also sell lots of LED replacement bulbs for automotive applications. Rather order all at once to save on shipping. I'll let you all know how it turns out.

Well, that would certainly save you on shipping, eh? I haven't verified it myself yet, but the ad I saw on Ebay UK said it was an H7. I really want to check all the bulbs and replace some with LEDs. So I'll probably pull all the bulbs Sunday, make a list, and place my order with DDM. It's funny, my FJR took the same bulbs as my Scion xD (H4), and My GPR125R took the same bulbs as my wife's Solara (H11). So I just ordered two of each kit and put them all in. Love 'em! That's why I want to do the 12 as well. Just gotta look at that whole clearance thing the Ebay UK guy was talking about. If it doesn't fit, I'm out $25 bucks. Certainly not gonna make me or break me.

No, two separate bulbs...one for low, one for high within the same housing. So no need to power solenoids like a hi/low. Been there, done that. Should be plug and pay.

Thanks Duccman. In its hayday, that 900 would eat GS1150s for lunch. It was the king of the hill for awhile. Even the Ninja 1000 couldn't beat it (too heavy). Man I had alotta money wrapped up in that bike (the Falicon Supercrank was a work of art), but I rode the shit out of it for years. Bummer about your Fizzer, I hope it was insured. I got alot of use out of that bike stand, but it does take up a bit of space. I eventually bought one of the Harbor freight hydraulic lifts and gave away the wood one. The H/F lift stores under my 4wd truck, so it's not taking up any additional garage space. I just roll it out when I need it (it's on casters). Since my 2.5 car garage is currently holding my truck, my folding bike trailer, the wife's Solara, my engine hoist, toolbox, 4 motorcycles, spare wheels/tires for both cars, and ALOTTA spare parts, it's a little crowded in there. ANYTHING that saves space is a blessing! For every freaking vehicle I own, there's a box of parts that were removed from it. That stuff is everywhere. I had to build a shed out back just to have someplace to put all the lawncare stuff. Man, I need a bigger garage.
