I'd probably be riding the project bike around today if I had a shim kit... :potstir:

my new/used clutch cover came today too. But not the gasket to put it on. Or my new front wheel bearing seals so I could put the wheel on.

soon I will be rid of that fugly scraped up engine case.

All the swingarm bearings and seals are here though.

yes. it's as close to the US 2000 VFR yellow that I could get in a single stage paint. It matches perfect in the light but is a little off in the garage.

Flourescent lighting allways throws colors off, it DOES however show each and every flaw, so it's the place to wetsand and buff if you're so inclined, then it looks beyond perfect in the daylight, even with a few small boo boo's that can be seen in the garage. Lookin freekin fantastic BTW.

wire harness is kicking my ass. Appears gen 6 moved many electrical components to the front. Not much room in the tail to stuff computer, fuse box, relay, etc...

I unwrapped the harness to rebundle and route things where I can fit them but still struggling.

Gen 6 used different connectors on the ECU so picking up a different harness doesn't appear to be a simple solution.

could never have guessed the level of difficulty the wiring would pose.

but failure isn't an option at this point so it will get figured out if I have to wire it from scratch.

If it wasn't a challenge it wouldn't be worth doing..

You'll get it (but damn its frustrating when you have shit like this that you didn't expect holding you up)..

    I feel your pain..

Keep going bud. I want to see this when it's done. I looked at your 3rd gen thread recently and I must say you did a nice job on that one.

Judging from that side cover being in a baking pan...are you baking on high-temp paint, or do you have a DIY powder coating setup?

she did help put the thermostat housing back together. I changed the T-stat, tightened up all cooling hose clamps (every one was loose), and did the valve gap inspection, all while the frame was off. Attempting to change the t-stat thru the side without removing the throttle bodies or disconnecting the hoses was a M-F'r and hardly worth the trouble. Couldn't have got it back together without the wife's small fingers. If I had to do it again, I'd probably just bite the bullet and pull the throttle bodies.
