Update on the rear brake master situation.....

It appears that all of Nissin masters with the reservoir pickup on the opposite side are a 1/2" diameter piston. (labed on the side by a "1/2") This style will usually feed a single piston caliper (CBR600, the DR650, etc..)

The VFR master is an 11/16" diameter piston (also cast into the side of the housing). The OD of the castings are .100 different so it doesn't appear that boring and swapping pistons is a viable option.

I may have to see if I can machine an adapter bracket to mount the OEM master. in a position that won't interfere. Or a phone call to Nissin can't hurt....

    Thanks.

Just went up to one of two local shops I use regularly and had no problems with them breaking the nut loose for me.

Is the bonus of doing business with the local guy. Internet ass-hole doesn't loan you special tools when you need them. Generally, "local guy" rarely does favors for people they don't know.

Just one problem Randy; I took the only good thing the 6th gen had to offer - 20lbs of extra weight in the form of an undertail exhaust configuration. :potstir: i.e. no vtec for me so the badge might be too misleading. I thank you for your thought however.

Damn you...I've been playing with the idea of stripping my bike down and cleaning/powder coating a ton of stuff for a while now. Now i see this, in all its glory. Making me want to do it more, when I can do it the least...

Thanks guys. FYI - the front fairing stay was sandblasted and then I rattle canned it. The rubberized wire wraps don't do well in the powder oven.

and FYI - They told me it would have been around a four bill job, if you do not know someone....

Then the swingarm bearings and seals ran me $160. Retail was well over $200 but I walked in to the local Honda shop with the internet parts fische printed out and all my part numbers circled. Made ordering very easy and he coughed up a discount without my asking. I told him I appreciated it but the internet clown wouldn't be able to help me torque that 46mm axle nut when I'm ready to reassemble.

Pays to do business locally when ever possible - even if it costs a couple extra bucks.

I like the affect of putting it on the red carpet. The before pics looked like New Orleans after Katrina. The after pics are like the Waldorf.
