Only 1 time did I ride the VFR in the rain and I was scared half to death only because it was night when it was coming down. Well today, it rain pretty good and I wanted to stretch the VFR's legs....she handled it pretty good!

I live in Ireland and anyone living here can testify that the VFR handles well in the rain - if it isn't raining here just wait 5 minutes winter or summer

I always thought the farings were plastic so that they would not rust. I am about 75% in the rain here. It rains so much here that the legendary grease strip everyone seems to shudder about is just a myth here. The first rain in the fall is sometimes exciting, but the rest of the time the roads are kept quite clean of oild from the rain. So yeah. Other than that, the VFR is fine in the rain. The biggest problem I have is keeping the face shield clear of fog in these colder climes but you probably don't have that as an issue down there.

Yeah, it was raining for a good 2-3 days before I came back from out of town. I pretty sure the oil was washed off pretty well from then. 75% rain!??!?! Dude, my hats off to you! *Canada national anthem*

Lol, I know i know. But remember this year, Boston or some east coast city had a 4.0 after shock.....everyone got out of their buildings and thought it was mayhem. Uh yeah, we Californians get 4.0's all the time and don't feel them lol We also have brush fires, drought, heat waves, and gangsters....lol

Yeah, I agree. But it's been bloody raining seems like since I got my new bike back in June. Thought at the time, "No worries, Summer is coming". All the weather forecasts
since have rain predicted & so it goes for all of next week to.
Riding in the rain does not bother me (I'd prefer not to though) & have that much rain gear, don't leave home without it. My biggest concerns are: A. Having to clean my bike of all the road crap & B. So many car drivers haven't got a bloody clue of how drive in the wet.

Ive been caught in the rain a few times, it's a royal pain in the butt.... makes a mess of the bike and it takes forever to clean up....

It's not hard to clean up, just time consuming.

Amen to that, I rode in the rain with my cb700...i felt disconnected to the road and it didn't like it much. It was "unstable" to say the least.

Yeh, cleaning a bike after a rain ride sucks. Better than being stuck in a cage though. I always gota clean the pipes at least until I can get to a water hose. NICE VIDEO. Would be nice to live out in your locaL. My bike looks too damn good now, I hate getting caught in the rain with her. Thats why I got a second bike, rain rides are about control and being a smooth sum-bitch with your brakes and judicial control of dah throttle ; )

no thanks, I don't like being soaked to the core in the rain.... plus then there is all the crap that gets kicked up in front of you and gets all over you in traffic... that's just nasty. all my gear is either mesh or gore-tex. I don't have riding pants right now so then my legs just end up wet and nasty and so do my boots. It's not fun for me at all. You guys might like it but I don't give a damn for it.

Its not like I go looking for rain mind you, its like the bumper sticker used to say, "shit happens." Well, "Rain Happens." I used to carry rain gear, on one particular road where I used to commute, there was just a grass shoulder. No-where to pull over and don your gear. I bought an Aerostich for that commute, its a good altenative to rain gear, which is kinda like being in a cow-hide sauna if you got your jacket on underneath it.

If I am out with my leathers and it rains, I get wet. Thats it, plain and simple. In South FL it could be raining on one side of the street and not the other. The leathers get cleaned in the rain and get periodically treated with what ever leather stuff I gots, (vanson, lexol.)

Going to Everglades City beginning of Feb for some Sea-Food Festival. Check it out...Cheers

trust me, I know how florida weather is.... lmao, I've got 30 years experience with it.

but yeah if it start to poor I pull off and find a gas station to sit at until it stops or becomes a drizzle. I don't have any desire to get dumped on anymore. If I'm late for work.... tuff shit. lol.

I live in Las Vegas, I hardly know what rain is. One time in the last year I've ridden in rain. And it was just a sprinkle.

Day one of VFR ownership: Handed the check over and started home for a 3 hour ride. Got 10 minutes into it and started a torrential downpour with driving winds blowing leaves across the freeway. My girlfriend and I both fly for a living, seen our share of bad weather and we were concerned (she was driving chase). A couple of rest stops later, she was laughing her ass off and I was impressed! Did I mention I didn't have raingear on?

My 98 is my (s)UV here in the northwest and does a great jone in the rain (June through May). Did I mention I have raingear?

I got you beat Reg. I get to commute 1 hour each way. But that's OK so long as there is no snow and I get to ride.
