Seems like all 5th gens have a one color paint scheme. I keep looking at mine and not seeing any good lines to follow for striping or graphics. Anyone have pics of cool looking 5th gen paint jobs?

    Racing livery.

In my humble opinion the 5th gen. bikes really do look good in racing livery and Bweiss's bike is a perfect example Tink. The bulbous body shape on the 5th gen. bikes is similar to the body shape on the RC51 and really lends itself well to racing livery. For example here's a pic of my RC51.....

and here's a pic of forum member Ericsbluff's 5th gen. done up in RC51 livery.

Here's a pic of forum member Bobbillbishop's 5th gen. tastefully done up in Repsol livery.

Personally I've always felt that a 5th gen. bike would look absolutely fantastic in the RWB WSBK livery that Colin Edwards ran on his RC51 at Laguna Seca.

To be honest though with their body shape the 5th gen. bikes would prolly look good in any racing livery Tink.

They'd prolly even look good in MotoGP livery too.

    LOL. ^^^^^

Gotta admit that's a good lookin' 5th gen. Tink.

Would look totally cool with a White seat cowl and a band of Black paint following the paint line on the rear fairing panel across the top of it.

Nice tasteful Silver on Black design with a bit of Gold thrown in on this 6th gen.

I thought he did a good job. Not the biggest fan of the black on the rear fenders. Like the OP said, it's tough to find a body line to follow and it might not flow as good as it could.

Will be interesting to see how my 5th gen with 6th tail flows. My plan is to do solid yellow at this point.

that does look pretty good...the one in Repsol colors, too. But can't say the same for the one in the RC30 livery though, sorry.

The RC51 scheme does look great! I would love to have the resources to do that to my '99 one day.

@ Tink - I'm actually mimicking this paint job. White is going to be gold base with red candy. and black will remain black. Its in the shop, I will have it back by Friday, Assembled by Monday. I'm not going to go with those wings though. I bought Honda wing large decals on eBay. They look horrible and feature bad workmanship. Where can I purchase the decals on this bike?

If you read through bweiss's build thread, he talks about "projecting" I think is the term he used, the wings onto the side of the bike and tracing it out.

not sure where he ordered his. I know xtreemedecals.com carries these or similar. I ordered some in December and it took a month to get them. The price was worth it and the quality appears good - they are not installed yet.

The wings are a projection that gets painted on.

Sorry, BWeiss. I think the owner of the white bike with the gray wing design is a guy in Canada - I remember reading his whole post and being quite impressed by how he brought his bike back from an accident in which he bent the frame
