    Hi,
I am the proud new owner of a 1992 VFR 750 Interceptor. My first street bike. Got it for 1800 bucks. She seems to be in very good condition with 25,000 miles on her. Now I probably didn't do this the smart way but I did no research on what type of bike I wanted. I was only looking in a price range. But after looking at this forum I have made a good choice. I am looking forward to being a member of this site and l I hope to learn alot from you guys.

    Ryan

I did pretty much the same thing. I found out much like you did that the bike happened to have a great mix of what I wanted. I knew next to nothing about the VFR when I got it. I did remember a friend who was an MMI grad telling me back in the early 90s that the VFR sounded sweet with aftermarket pipes. He was right.

Yeah it has a two brothers exhaust on it and when he fired it up I was pretty much sold. I really didn't want to spend alot on my first bike and it just so happened I got the right one for me by the sounds of it. One question though. I really dislike the seat and rear cowl. Is there a conversion kit for that. I saw on thurn ms that there was one for the r36 will that work? I just don't like the look of the seat coming down the sides and I do not need a passenger seat.

    Thanks

Well, I'm gonna say yes, but I can't swear to it as I ride a 5g. My bike has a sargent seat and I usually run it with the cowl on the back. I think Vman38 actually runs a 3g also so he could probably answer your question more accurately. Or is a 92 a 4g? If so, RVFR will be sure to chime in with the correct info for you.

I di the same thing, found a great deal on one bought it and then found out that I made a good decision.

You can get a seat cowl to cover up the passenger seat, they come up every once in a while on ebay, usually around $100 w/ the bump pad, $70 with out it. I have just got one on my bike, it makes it look a lot better.

Hey pbrown I like that foglight. Do you have that aimed down towards the road right in front of you?

Would a 94 rear seat cowl fit it looks the same size and it hugs up under the tank.

    thanks

Welcome. Me, I researched the snot out of it and bought the VFR. Still think it was a great call. It doesn't matter how you come to wisdom so long as you get there.

Well I took it for a ride this morning for the first time. I had a friend drive it how knows alot more about bikes than myself. Anyways While I was driving I look down and no speedo. Theres no telling how many miles are on this bike. I am a little pissed. Other than that though it was a nice first ride.

Welcome to the site. Sounds like you got a good 3g VFR given the year. May need some work but definately worth it.

I actually had to take the fog light off, it tapped the fender over big bumps and I decided to get rid of it before it did damage. I didn't like the way the seat looked either, so I recovered it and got a seat cowl, if I get a chance I'll take a pic and post it.
