New to the list, but been biking for many years. Got a RWB '07 and just encountered a problem with speedo reading error (was reading sporadic but now reads zero) after adjusting the rear chain. Have over 55-K on bike now and never had any probs when adjusting the chain. Also had the 'FI' light come for a short time, then went out. Any correlation between the two? Any ideas would be very welcome. Thanks.

Not sure man, I think the speedo gets input from the front wheel (not totally sure)

The speedo sensor is driven off the head of the bolt that secures the front drive sprocket to the transmission countershaft MTB.

Sounds like you might have a problem with your speedo sensor Pablo. Unbolt your speedo sensor and remove it,check to see if the plastic drive gear is either rounded out or broken off the drive shaft. Make sure the head of the bolt securing your front drive sprocket is undamaged too.

Your speedo sensor is located on the left side of your bike,it's bolted onto the chain cover right next to your clutch slave cylinder. Plug and unplug the connector for the speedo sensor a coupla times too, make sure that plug connector is making good contact.

    Thanks to responders....

Appreciate the 'what to try' replies. Took off the speedo-sensor and checked out, but looked normal so bolted back on. Still not sure why the "FI" indicator lights up. Any inputs again will be appreciated. (Colorful bike there Stoshmonster).

I have found out just recently that those flashes of the FI light are actually an error code

Reading Fuel Injection Error codes on a VFR800 - YouTube

There are a couple threads here that speak of this but Tinkerinwithstuff sent me this a couple weeks back. Invaluable. Welcome to the site.

Thank you for sending video (34468 Randy) on 'FI' dash light read-out possibilities. Helpful to watch, hope to try over weekend. Thanks again.
