Don looks like your bike is coming together nicely. I like your choice of rims. I take it the #78 is for the year? Waiting to see how it runs with the modified engine. Oh yea you'll have to give us the weight of the bike. Just curious to see how much you shaved off.

Yes I will do that.(Give you the weight)
The stock bike weight was listed at 480 lbs. dry.

I know it is at least 12 lbs. lighter already.
78 ....yes it is the year of the bike!

    Can I bitch a little?

Today I was working on the wiring.
I bought an aftermarket 1975 wiring harness
and I am wiring the bike as a 1975.
It is easier because many aftermarket parts were made for the 1976 and earlier models.
The 77-78 models were cross over models into the DOHC.

    I bought a Combination regulator/rectifier from Rick's motorsportselectric.
Here is the problem I ran into.
So aggrevating. I paid extra money for this.

Can't they put the correct terminals on the wires? Cheeeesssshhh!!!!
Now I have to fix it all.

I would not need to do that because I build the best design of chopper seat in the world.

    Some update photos.
It is harder to post photos here than my other forums.

I had to return the front disk brake rotor because the rivets interfered with the caliper by a few thousands of an inch. No go.
Would not fit my 1978 Honda CB750.

Here are some photos showing my Randakk grips, Cycle exchange headlight,Cycle exchange Stem nut made of aluminum, the super bike handlebars from Cycle Exchange.
The first photo is showing the OEM coil mount clamp. Not easy to get as most were thrown away during the last 33 years.
Photo showing the Randakk's grips and Cycle Exchange super bike bars.

    Dynatech coils,wires,and Electronic ignition.

OEM horn installed and front fender trial fit.

Turn signals and mirrors should finish loose ends in the wiring.
    Cycle Exchange Headlight.

Front brake (original) back together. Completely rebuilt of course.

I think they will be the right bars.
    Comfortable yet racey.
The more aggressive road race bars (clip ons) would kill my neck .

It is not serape abuse,... it is tough love. It is my main shop blanket for laying on the shop floor etc.,. I have had it for many years and I even wash it once in a while.

These super bike bars are very close to CB400 bars.

I wonder how it would look if you rolled those bars down 180 degrees? Might look racier but not be so hard on the shoulders.

Once the tank is added and the wiring is done I think the real picture will come in focus.
