RIP Marco. Thoughts with your family, and especially with your good friend Valentino.

Our sport has lost an unforgettable soul.

i cant help but to give Simoncelli props all day long....he was an example for us all. He was GREAT at what he did, did what he loved for a living, and went out doing what he loved the most. Not only that, when he went, he was riding balls out, holding nothing back at ALL. Anybody who watches motorcycle racing has seen time and again those accidents like this one, where the rider was just pushing his machine as hard as he possibly could, leaned just a LITTLE too far over, and lowsided it. How he couldn't seperate himself from his machine is to me, confusing, and ultimately tragic. My heart and condolences go out to his family, and to all who have suffered a loss in Marco's passing.

+1 Chris. There are several videos out there, and a couple of them start with the view from (I think) Bautista's Suzuki who goes under Marco going into the corner. Marco is on the ground, holding the bars and doing his damndest to save it. The result of his struggle was that the tires did get some grip back, and instead of low-siding harmlessly off the outside of the turn, he came back across in front of the pack. He had to try and save it. That's what he did. On the edge - all the time. One of the few who could get away with it, right up to the point where it bites them. Ask Wayne Rainey some time.

Never lose that edge Marco. You will be missed.

I finally watched the Valencia race today (although I'd heard the result). Damn, Ben just blew it in that last corner. Good job, Casey!

Awesome ride by Ben to pass both Pedrosa and Dovizioso in the closing laps before nailing Casey until the last corner of the last lap, still unsure how Casey hooked up so well to shoot past Spies right at the line winning by 0.015 of a second.

    Stoner is an animal

Great season for Honda all around

Barring the loss of Super Sic, of course.

Was very unlucky for Hayden and Rossi, certainly the icing on the cake for Ducatis woeful MotoGP '11 season. From what I saw at the time wasn't 100% Bautistas fault as Dovizioso appeared to move across the track taking out Alvaros front wheel. The question was whether or not his front wheel should have been in a position to be taken out ?

On a positive note Josh Hayes did remarkably well managing 7th, not sure what he's discussing here but he doesn't appear at all into it.

Follow the money. The fucking Spanish holding anybody they can for ransom again.. The better overview that the "sound" bite provided which for the most part addressed F1 and not Moto GP will be found by drilling down on the Austin newspaper site. The link is the home page. From there go to sports and from there to F1 for the stories.

Pretty much the shared view of all those commenting on the story at the Motomatters site as well. Maybe they should just hold every race in Spain and get it over with.
