Looks like norkleboy has flunked the test to find any posts by some guy named Nolan.

 

So I went to the Motorcycle show in Long Beach today, the "force" must have been keeping all of the Storm Troopers away as I did not see any at all. I looked for a set for myself :heh:, but this was the closest I could find, DAMN!

However amusing the bickering between you and BB is this kind of statement is uncalled for. My oldest daughter helps out with training the Special Olympics Athletic squad Mondays and what they have do to push past their profound disabilities needs to be understood not used to ridicule others.

 

Relax John, take it for how it was meant. My first son has Downs Syndrome, and while I was offended by any remark like that when I was younger, as I've aged I have come to realize that the intent of the remark has nothing to do with my son.

The flame war between those two has been, and I think will continue to be, entertaining if nothing else. I am actually glad to see NorcalBoy engaging again, always good when the boxer decides to stand and fight, now we'll see if the lumbering, relentless pressure fighter can stand up to it, or if the boxer can keep it up.

(For those not familiar with my boxing analogy; NorcalBoy would be the boxer, bobbing and weaving, and trying to out maneuver and out speed BadBilly, who is the lumbering, relentless pressure fighter, who has no skill other than constantly applying pressure and hoping his opponent will wilt under the pressure.)

I on the other-hand am now the determined counter puncher; lulling my opponent to sleep, and timing my attacks to get the most out them, trying to steel rounds when I can, while ensuring I keep enough in the tank to turn it on in the championship rounds...

Especially since at various times, I've sparred with both of them.

 

So, at 5' 9" and 290lbs, what division are you in there Gunny? Potential coronary in the first ten seconds of the first round?

 

Thanks Echo3Niner, I'm aware NB said it in jest and once I said my piece no longer an issue. It's more that kind of thing is said too often without the persons appreciation of whats actually been said, even Jennifer Aniston has been guilty of making an unfortunately flippant remark and I certainly hold no ill feelings towards her.

I met a father at a BBQ this weekend of a smiling happy young boy of 7 who'd suffered brain and limb damage falling out of 2 story apartment when he was only 2. The father still in the Australian Army been on duty overseas at the time and had completed several tours in East Timor, Iraq and Afghanistan yet still maintained a remarkably positive attitude to his childs future. I'd guess by his drive and love of sports might eventually include his son making the Special Olympics.

I'm not being PC rather suggesting if you stop and think about it whether physical or mental by birth, medical complication or an unfortunate accident when any of these kids trains years for and feels the intense pride of just making the Special Olympics any reasonable person should think it unfair to use a Special Olympics Athlete or anyone less fortunate than themselves to cheaply insult someone.

Aimed generally and not at NB my hope by writing in this way it'll make people think about real peoples lives if not now then perhaps in the future.

 

Ya might check the roster of exhibitors for the Seattle show coming up. Not all the shows are the same. Local space is sold and given away to various folks. My question would be once one of these things goes off are they re-useable or do ya just spend another wad of bucks on a new rig? There is at least one demo on Utube that is just a little strange..

Threadjacking is a percieved issue. For some who are anal it's some serious shit. For others it ain't no big thing. As far as poking, I would do the same for any overinflated tire with the proper tool.
