Hi, everyone. My name is Jose and I am in the beautiful Napa Valley. I once owned a V45 Sabre and most recently had a 1983 CB750F that I was slowly collecting the parts to mod. (very heavily). However, home ownership suddenly creates many "unintended" projects, so I had to let the F go in favor of something newer, more reliable and ready to ride. The end result was me coming site, lurking/learning a lot from many of you and finally, purchasing a VFR last Weds. It was even owned by another member of this forum.

So then, I am the proud "new" owner of a 2000 VFR. :whoo: I will poke around the various forums on this site, but will probably hang out the most in the 5th gen. forum. I have been a member of a CB-F forum for going on 8 years through which I pulled a lot of good advice, did my best to contribute and met some really nice folks. I look forward to that same kind of experience here.

    Cheers all.

Nice ride, Jose...except for the "wardrobe malfunction" (bra loose at left side, exposing the tank...not exactly Janet Jackson but y'know...my 5th gen. had the same problem every once and a while).

I got out there today and corrected her bra.

lol yeah, the only reason I put a bra on mine was because she had a little ding in the tit, er, tank.

Took her out for the first full ride today with a family member. We had a great, mellow day.

It started rough, with his battery dead and not charging. He managed to get to me, then we had to ask my wife to bring the car and give his battery a jump. That was followed by a trip to CycleGear where I bought a multi-tool, float charger, BILT tank bag and some great fitting BILT riding boots. I will be able to rig up the charger connections so that I can give a jump to another bike as well. :thumb: At the store, an employee asked if he could come out and check out my bike. Soooo ...... she's already getting attention from strangers.

The rest of the ride was around Lake Berryessa in Napa county. Had one turn where I had to make an aggressive mid line correction (came in faster than I wanted). I realize that I am learning how the throttle and engine behave, so I don't expect everything to be silky smooth at all times. Other than that one moment, it was a smooth run. I felt great, considering I haven't been on two wheels for about 6 or 7 years. I'll keep riding slow and observant until the reflexes and body mechanics come back in full, but what a GREAT day.

Jose, she will get more different type attention if you don't make sure your bike
has the heavy duty 50 amp R/R and heavy wiring harness installed. This is a very
common problem on the 5th gens. Otherwise, killer machines. Do an R/R Advanced
Search in the upper right hand corner of this page.
    Good luck

Jose, have you named your bike? If not, might I suggest you call her "Pussycat"?

Pussycat would fit too, but my daughter was pushing to name the bike, the second we picked her up. I thought about it and Kazu (First; obedient, disciplined) seemed to fit.
