I have a 98 f3 front wheel along with ebc rotors. The wheel used my stock spacers, you may look at those generation of honda 600 rotors and match them. Buying used rotors is kinda like buying used undeware though, some things it just pays to ante up and buy new.

According to the Ron Ayers online parts catalog here's the list of bikes that use the same right front brake rotor as your '96 VFR750.

    Here is what I did

At about 60,000 miles my front rotors were pretty thin on my '97. By looking at an ebc application chart I could see that the same front rotors fit a '94-'97 vfr750f,'95-'97 cbr900rr, '95-'98 cbr600f3, and a '98-'05 vtr1000f. All these rotor have the same dimensions; inner and outer diameter, swept area, bolt pattern, thickness, and carier offset. The differences of the oem rotors are in number and pattern of drill holes, the number and style of buttons, and the pattern of the carrier. I agree that buying used rotors is dicey but I got lucky. A friend of mine was changing out his superhawk rotors for some 320's and gave me the old rotors known to be in good shape. I bolted the rotors on, no spacers, same bolts, no nuthin' except new pads. they work great! I hope this helps.
