Quite amazing...bored to over 1300 and more trick pieces than can be imagined. The anodized Marchesini billet alloys alone are insane!

The seat is very interesting. It incorporates a saddle type seat and transistions into a cafe rear section very well.

Getting some parts on and finding screws etc.,.
I have a whole table full of stuff.
I am waiting on 4 special bolts for the oil lines.
I was missing the steering stem top bearing nut, which was not on the original donor bike.

    Left foot rest.
Left foot rest and brake lever.
Now the brake light spring and bracket can go on.

Rear shocks and inner fender next. I bought shorter than normal shocks and I am having second thoughts about that so I am waiting for longer shocks to arrive.
Won't come tomorrow Thanksgiving but maybe Friday.

Put some shocks on it today.
I will have to trim off the lower bolt. But I wanted the smooth shank of the bolt all the way through the clevis.

I bought the shocks on Ebay.
They do look good but will they work properly?
The technology is far ahead of the CB750 that is for sure.

Almost no info on the net about these RFY shocks or even what RFY stands for.
There was one person that bought them ,then took them all apart
machined a new bottom clevis from 2.5 inch solid billet stock and built special tools for taking them apart and putting them together. He also talks about oil amounts and nitrogen ratios. But he never does say how well they worked !
So I will wait for a better report or just go by my own personal experience.
I do not have the dough for $500-$1200. dollar shocks.

All shank and minimal threads, excellent choice Don. :thumb:

Any thoughts on installing a small washer,a drop of Loctite, and a matching acorn nut like the one on the top shock mount bolt on that lower shock mount bolt?

Would look symmetrical and give your shock mounting a nice tidy finished appearance.

Yes that nut does have loctite on it, but the acorn nut would be a good solution to keep it locked and the same as the top of the shock mounting bolt look.
    Good idea. Thanks.

    More work today.
Carb boots and clamps OEM clamps.
I boiled the boots in winter green and water. It does work.
    Countershaft sprocket installed.
    Front r/h mount plate.
I had a aluminum plate instead of the steel plate but there was very little weight difference and I would have had to buy 3 new mount bolts ,nuts and washers.
Decided to skip it. I can go back later when I get the bolts and do it.

Some picture progress photos of the build.
Photo showing battery ground strap installation.
Front fork tubes installed and tripple tree installation finished
except for two bolts. They are on the way.
Rear brake light switch. Simple. Efficient. 33 years and still working.
Dynatech coils and main wiring harness in place.
Yesterday I also got the top nut for the steering stem in the mail!

That one nut was holding up the progress. It was not on the original donor bike. I also ordered two new OEM pinch bolts for the top of the fork tubes
because there were two different bolts from the original donor bike and one was not correct and the other one was chewed up chrome.
When you get this far in the build and have spent a lot of money you do not mind buying two bolts that will cost $20. with shipping because they are right at eye level. It is like the front door to your house. It must look good as it represents you.
