Hey all! Little intro first. Name is James and I live in East Tennessee. Been riding for a number of years and currently own a number of bikes (between The Wife and I). Never gave much thought to "sportbikes" as I figured they would be too harsh on my back. Well, back during the summer, Wife bought a CBR250R as a second bike and I was really surprised at how comfortable it is. I have taken it out on 200+ mile days and it feels pretty good stock.

ANYWAY, so that got me to looking at some sportier bikes. Last month I walked into a dealership and a 2007 VFR in RWB was sitting next to the door and punched me in the gut. I was absolutely enthralled by it! Since then, I have been trying to find one in my price range and test ride it. There are some for sale here, but the dealerships who had them would not let me test ride. I wont buy a bike I cannot test.

So today, I wondered into the local Honda dealership looking for something else and was stopped in my tracks by this 07 RWB VFR with 3500 miles. Got the no more BS price of 6 grand and was offered a test ride it when it stops raining. Seems good to me. Will most likely trade the Sportster in on it. (Sorry Harley, but you need to get modern). The bike is in 98% shape except it was dropped by the owner in the parking lot and scuffed the plastic. Not biggie to me. Also has the blue hardbags and a Corbin seat.

So now that this is long winded, is there anything I need to look for or watch out for? I will be going to do the deal at noon this Thursday.

    Thanks guys and gals

RWB's are the bost looking gen6's stock, the bags and seat make it a sweet deal for sure. I don't hear alot of gripes mechanicly about them on here. The VFR's in general have a good rep, minus the older one with under sized wireing and questionable RR's. Good luck!

I would make sure that the bike has the rear seat cowl and passenger grab rails with it. Sometimes those get lost when the bike changes hands. Also take a closer look at the tip over damage to make sure there isn't more than you think. At 3500 miles, it is pretty much new. The hard cases cost $1100 retail and overall, the price sounds pretty good. Good luck with the test ride and see if there is any wiggle room on their part.

I also started off as a cruiser rider, a 2003 VTX1300. The first time I had a chance to a ride a sportbike it dispelled all the misconceptions I had about sportbikes. I am now the proud owner of a 2003 VFR800, for over a year now, and love riding it for many reasons. I still have the VTX and enjoy having the option to satisfy whatever riding mood I'm feeling that day.

Good luck with your purchase and I'm certain you won't be disappointed.

Being that you live in Eastern Tennessee, a VFR is the best bike you could own!
