I think he saw you, he just wanted to make sure he got out in the road before the next wave of traffic was coming. that one wouldn't have made me too nervous. the ones that almost get you on the highway are when you are on their left and they come over not seeing you. I had one do that the other day and I just sat in my lane waiting for him to see me. when he was about 3 ft away he saw me and I thought he was gonna flip his truck he jerked the wheel so hard. poor guy probably shat himself.

If you would have been going the speed you were instead of slowing down, you would have been fine. Wait, you were fine. You slowed down and made the car have to stop in the oncoming traffic lane. So if we are talking about idiot drivers, maybe turn the camera around?

Agree the car pulling out of the servo was a bit of a non event to those who commute regularly in city traffic but still worth watching because it has the sound of a VFRs V4 in it.

If you really think about it, it's nothing but a common occurrence that happens to all of us whether in a cage or on a bike. My attitude is, everybody is out to get you. They will pull out anytime, sudden stop or perch half way in the road just to see what skills you have.

I don't fear any of this when riding but I sure as hell look for it. If your not aware of your surroundings your screwed because the idiots just pop up out of the ground and will get you . Even when looking you in the eyes.

Just as an observation, are turn indicatiors optional when changing lanes in Cali? Not busting your balls, but something so simple may save you some pain, let alone moving violation tickets.

Legally, Anytime you change the direction of a vehicle, you should have your "winkers" on. I guess I broke the law...

Hell bro! Then you wouldn't of been able to see the car!!!!!

The way the car made the turn, I didn't know what she was thinking, so I slowed down.

Damn! Dude are you ok??? That has to be the one of the closest calls that I have ever seen! If I was you, I would be seriously considering hanging it up, as you used up all of your extra lives with that one.

Sorry, but I need some time to settle down from watching that....it REALLY gave me a scare.

This is a very common occurrence in So Cal. as most drivers down here are impatient and they just shoot out not thinking about what's waiting for them once they get past the cross traffic, they only know "go now before traffic starts coming". This happens all of the time, even when I'm in my car I've had this happen to me and if I was in my car I would have done the same thing as Brace and slowed down. If I cannot make eye contact with the driver, I slow down, or tap the horn so I know that they know I'm there. Sometimes I just stop and let the person "slip in" rather than risk getting tagged in the corner panel, or rear of the bike (or worse, my left side), regardless of who might be at fault if there was a collision. Although I will say that when your on the bike this scenario does get your adrenaline pumping, I wont deny that. Glad this too came out OK.

Brace, if you post another one of these, I'm gonna start to think that your making yourself a target just for sensationalism...

    Cheers!

Kind of like the dude who was up to his knees in the elephant shit he was shoveling. When asked why he just didn't find a better job. he told the other guy he didn't want to get out of show business.

Factory rider-CHP-Wall of Death-Stunt dude- Not much in the vid world until you get an editor or hit the library for a book on editing.

Then again, maybe someone out there collects twenty minute vids of runs for tortillas de flor.
