I don't know if anyone has seen this yet, but there is a 2012 VFR1200. I know there was a thread or two out there questioning whether Honda was going to kill it, but this should put those worries to rest. Besides, Honda has way too much money into the R&D of this bike to pull the plug. I'm betting there will be other variations of it - more specifically, a touring version to compete with the Kawasaki Concours 14 and the Yamaha FJR 1300.

It looks like it got traction control and some other minor updates. I think the new blue will have to grow on me. I did like the red. Here are the links:

I hope everybody likes blue. Looks nice. Maybe they improved the low rpm fueling issues that owners complained about.

It does say that "Traction Control" was added for 2012.

I dont understand why they are dancing around a black vfr12 in the states. Easter Egg Blue? Really? Looks like I might have to take a trip to the paint shop since I probably wont be able to order a black faring kit unless I have it shipped in from another country.

    "- VFR1200F

The VFR1200F introduced a whole new generation of Honda V-4 heritage and VFR(r) tradition. Bristling with advanced technology imported from the MotoGP world and other cutting-edge environments, the VFR1200F embodies a futuristic sport motorcycle created for the sheer joy of riding. Now the 2012 VFR1200F pushes those technological boundaries even further, thanks to the addition of traction control and automatic dual-clutch transmission, plus more low-end torque, a larger fuel tank and a redesigned seat for added style and comfort. Availability: TBD"

I love how it has a green circle under the tire and calls it traction control.... The bikes pretty heavy its not like I need all that much traction control. (fast but heavy)

The Fuel increased Tank is 400mL its not even a Tall Boy Beers worth increase. Think that is less than .1 of a gallon.

Overall Lame updates at least I think. Would have liked to see something more like the some of the other motorcycle MFG's with a couple of different Fuel/timing maps. One for trolling out some touring/commuting and another for sport. Oh well doesn't look like the fixed the headlight back to dual head lamp style. Will just have to live with this old 2010 model looks so dated.

If I were buying another VFR1200 I would love it in blue as my other passion (other than bikes) is my football (soccer to our American bretheren)* team who play in Blue & white. In the UK there are loads of Red & White Hondas the colours of our big rivals but only the new CBR600F comes in the right colours.
*I am currently trying to teach my future daughter in law that now she has left the American forces and is coming to live in the UK she really has to stop calling football "Soccer". at least I have got her supporting my team :)
My apolofies for going off subject

Just to think, I have spent all this time being jealous of the UK guys choices in colors. But now it is time for them to be jealous of us U.S. guys with all our many choices of red, blue and ..... er..... red:smile:

I think I might mix and match panels to make myself a Spiderman bike.

We already had traction control in the crappy 1st and 2nd fuel mapping. You would think that Honda would have been more politically correct and called it "Improved Traction Control"

I really like the new VFR in the blue color also.

Also "soccer" is a term invented in England. It was an abbreviation of "association" (assoc.) from "the football association." cheers!!:cheersaf:

That's correct, no-one in the UK uses that term but here in Ireland everyone does, since we have our own version of football called Gaelic Football - a bit like a cross between soccer and basketball - so that's what people here mean when they say football.

I guess it's the same reason in the USA because there's what we call American Football over there.

Of course we also have Rugby Football both here and in the UK, but people just call that rugby.

I always enjoy watching Gaelic football & Hurley on TV on my trips over to Ireland. I'm trying to decide where to visit on my next trip over on the bike. i have done most of the country (my favourite bit being Dingle) so I might have to do that other bit up North

Thanks I have done all of those. Next year if I can arrange my leave at the right time I would like to tale in some road racing. My last visit to a road race was the Athena meet. I much prefer this to circuit racing. as yet i have not been able to get over for the NW200 so it would be great if I could do that next year

The only thing I'd like to see, is a return of the red paint they used on the 98-2001 models.

The only difference I see is the traction control. Since we in Europe already have the fix for the low rpm issues (for free!), I see no reason to be envious. Certainly not if I look at that hideous blue. But to each their own I guess.

    Just my 2 Eurocents.

Sounds like a few nice advances good for Honda still think they made a mistake in having the 1200vfr being in the vfr family, it should have been advertised as a new line all together since it is so different from the previous vfr generations. Still think it's the best bike I've tossed my 54 year old leg over.
