Here's what to do with an old clear shield a CB400 seat and leftover fiberglass.

My son wanted to go as Master Chief from Halo this Halloween. Funny thing is we don't even own an Xbox and he's never seen the game. So since there were no kids costumes that were cool, I had to make one. I used 110# card stock to get all the shapes(I had to make a few to get the sizing right) then used some leftover resin and fiberglass from my bike project to stiffen things up. I added some black craft foam to give it more detail. I glued some foam from an old CB400 seat inside some pieces and the helmet to help fill them out. I had a clear shield kickin' around so it went in the helmet along with some LED's I robbed from a flashlight. After a coat of paint I applied a black wash to make it look weathered followed by some Hammered Silver on the edges to make it look like worn metal armor. I put an LED flashlight in an old handlebar grip and mounted it under a gun I painted so he can have some light while Trick or treating. It's hard to tell it's just paper, fiberglass and old bike stuff.

Anyway, he took first place last night at the Exeter Halloween contest. Pretty funny.

Best. Dad. Ever. If I ever have kids they're getting a pillowcase. Maybe some holes cut in it if they're good that week.

When I first read the title of the topic I thought Don is building another bike.

Wow that's a cool suite. Your son even has the right warrior swagger. He belongs in movies. Good job dad.

Too funny. I kinda thought that he might be working it a bit for the two costumed lasses looking over from the Radio Flyer.

There has to be a way to integrate a stun gun or cattle prod into that costume. That would of course be for deterrent purposes only of course.
