Got the engine out last evening...whew...what a :pisser:. Removing the engine from the frame took about 20 minutes....preparing for it took about 2 hours. Anyway, it's out...I am going to gird my loins after while and see if I can heft it up onto the workbench.

Good deal. Be careful lifting onto your workbench.

There are couple more months left in the riding season and you don't want to be relegated to the La-Z-Boy.

The petcock I have doesn't look very healthy, is probably in no better condition than yours, it had been sitting unused for some long time. A kit is still available, the Honda part # is 16953-ML0-014. Bike Bandit lists it as their in-house part # 2524020. I thought that K&L had a kit also, but I couldn't find it listed.

Good Morning IC....you're up early I see.

Gentlemen, I have the '86 broken down to individual pieces. Here's a list of stuff that is usable.
    1. Frame, looks good, needs cleaned up and repainted/powdercoated.
    2. Wheels, red, look good, no scratches or gouges.
    3. Forks, look good except for both being rashed at the top just below the dust seals, no evidence of leakage.
    4. Wiring harness, dirty but all there.
    5. Brake calipers, all were operational when I started the teardown.
    6. Rear cowl, one mounting tab cracked, needs refinished.
    7. Front fairing, split left side at the juncture of the windshield screws, is repairable, several scratches.
    8. Centerstand, works as it should, push down tab broken off, repairable.
    9. Airbox, good condition.
    10. Headlamp bracket, good condition.
    11. Rear shock, no sign of leakage....I know....who needs one of these anyway.

If anyone is interested in any of this stuff, make an offer I can't refuse.

Yes, but I am going to hang on to the tank/petcock for a while. I will be making an attempt to remove the dents from the tank and render it usable. I'll need a little luck.

If you have 'em, I could use the throttle tube and the two bolts that secure the exhaust collector box to the oil pan. Also, the cover for the fuse panel. Thanks.

I'm kinda keen on the idea of having a set of Supertrapps, let me know how much you want for them... if you still have them and want to part with them. Love that sound- here's my VF's baby brother with a Supertrapp:

I inspected the throttle tube, the eyelets for the cable ends are ovaled out pretty badly...I will send it if you want. I dumped all the bolts into one container, I'll take a look and see if I can figure out which are the collector bolts. I put the fuse panel cover on my 500 as the original cover was cracked.
