Time to chime in: I have ridden the SC VFR. Yes, TC was brave enough to allow me a few miles on the way to Julian.

I don't know if he mentioned that:
1. Heli bars so you're up a little higher
2. Raised the bike, so you're up a little higher yet

Initially, I was a bit slow on the throttle (scared to death would be a bit more accurate) but first gear is quite manageable if you're not trying to get to red line. The feeling you get is the bike wants to pull all the time. It doesn't matter where you are in the rpms. As mentioned by TC, the really huge power comes in the 8K+ rpms. I took off once, getting on the gas and the front wheel came up slowly. I kept it about an inch or so off the ground all the way to second gear. Coming into Julian there were some 35mph corners. I took these in second and the rpms were around 6K. SMALL THROTTLE MOVEMENTS! Good lord. There is too much useable power.

Summary: You're now riding a different bike. Straight line stuff gets scary if you want to get on it. Double that for Palomar type corners. But its extremely manageable and doesn't come at you all at once.

Then there is "The Story": On the way to Palomar waiting at a light. TC is in the front row. A <insert 750cc bike here> comes in hot and up to the front. Guns his engine a little at TC. Green light. TC torches this guy. Bike comes up in 1, 2, and 3rd gear as he pulls away from this guy toward the next light. Its not just a bike length, but a bike length in a 100 yards and pulling away.

I have to admit, that was kinda funny. Part of what made it funny, was that it was simple, pertinent and germane to the subject, in contrast to the norm for who the author was... One in a thousand of your posts, actually either make me laugh, or contributes to the actual dialogue...

You know, like when some kid or idiot relative you have no faith in their intellect at all, suddenly pipes up in a conversation you wouldn't have expected them to have any understanding of, and in a moment of lucidity says something that actually makes sense?

Ok, the finishing touches are going on the video and it should be up after I get off of work Monday. I just have a couple of titles and a little sound work to do before I upload it to YouTube. I tried to finish it tonight but I ran out of steam about an hour ago; time to get some :sleep:
