I was going to say that someone clearly hacked Donald's account.

    This must be an imposter

I received the parts from the powder coaters today.

    Wanna see?

That gas tank was 33 years old and had no dents when I stripped it.
The inside had very little rust. just a couple spots.

The mess I started with. Just for a comparison.

Yes it is a beautiful thing, and a thing of beauty.
I have the stock metal HONDA badges that screw onto each side.

A little update while waiting for the engine.
I ordered some grips from RandaKk's and they are really nice. Best I have seen.
Also I have sealed the inside of the gas tank with KREEM sealer.

For the first time I had some trouble with it. IT dried ok but was chalky white and had a lot of holes in it. So then I bought another bottle of the sealer and put a second coat and it came out glassy white like it was supposed to. I think the first kit was on e shelf too long.

I have used it at least 4 other times and had good results with no problems.

Just patiently waiting now for the call from the engine builder.

BTW...My avatar is a Photoshop mock up of the finished bike. Close anyway.

I will ride it of course. How long ?

What I really want is a Harley Davidson Dyna low rider 2005.
They do not make them anymore.
I was hoping I could get a used one before I die.
Must be unmolested. Am I kicked off the forum now?

    Thanks for the encouragement.
I will be building the CB750 cafe very carefully paying attention to all details.
I hope to be getting the engine back soon.

Donald, although this does not earn me any points either...I still like the dyna myself. I have ridden Harley's since I was a wee lad and will always maintain a special place in me heart for them.

Shouldn't be too hard to find one. Most bikes up for sale are Harleys. The trick would be to find one that the dude who has it is not under the delusion that it's worth more than he paid for it because its a Harley..

I keep my eye out for a Deuce of a similar vintage. Nice lines. Either that or an XLCR.

I took a look at that XLCR. I like it in its stock configuration.
It is racy-er than the FXDL.
