I am hearing about VFR 1200 recalls in Europe. Metal Shavings in the engine can cause failure. Has anyone heard of more details? Has anyone had any issues?

I have had issues with the new bike. Loss of power and stuttering when gently rolling on the throttle. Its happened at low speeds and as high as 80 MPH. I communicated with the dealer and he suggests bad gas. I have used only high octane 91 in Canada. Dealer suggests that due to higher fuel prices...the high octane is not turning inventory fast enough ..therefor the gas left sits and loses its potency. I was looking up issues I could find on the net...and I only found one reported case in the UK that sounds similar to mine. I have to take the bike in for the first service. Will get it checked out. I recently ran the tank with one bar of fuel. First time with a flashng bar. This intermittant problem became very regular to the point where I thought I was out of fuel numerous times. I am having trouble even finding a place that carries 94 rated fuel in St Catharines.....so we will see what happens on first service.

Wow, what dealer is that? I would run far away, seriously. Blaming the gas? That is, frankly, ridiculous. If you were in the backwoods, then maybe bad gas would be a possibility, but not where you are. And it doesn't require 94 octane. 91 is fine according to the manual.

I haven't experienced your issue I don't think. If you had said your issues were low speed only (and not at 80kph) then I would have said "yes" I know what you mean. The low rpm fuelling is not perfect, or even reasonably good, on this bike imho. Almost certainly emissions standards related. I've put a Power Commander V on it and I really think it is almost a mandatory upgrade. It really smooths out the low to mid rpm power delivery. Highly recommended.

Nice to hear of another 1200 in the GTA area. I have yet to see one (anywhere) since I got mine last summer.

Good luck and if the problem continues really bad, I would think about finding a new Honda dealer to take it to.

I know the difference between riding in too low a gear and this reaction....its totally different. Funny I was told by the dealer and a member of VFR World to try regular gas. I have only used 91....Going to try regular and get back to you.
    This is an intermittant issue.
If you ever want to ride in the Niagara Region....look me up.
