Few weeks back lost the front cams on my 85 VFR700. Problem came from a piece of rubber clogging the oil line to the front head.

Went to change my oil and got the same NAPA 1334 filter. (NAPA Gold) found the anti drain back valve has the same size, length, feeling and color as the rubber that clogged my oil line. Now I know it was the filter, couldn't originally figure out how the rubber piece got past the screen.

So don't use this filter, cost me a few hundred dollars and a lot of down time. Normal white NAPA filters don't have the same thing in them.

    Just a FYI

You should get WIX (NAPA) to pay for repairs, Fram has paid numerous claims for defective filters.

Huh, usually WIX makes a decent filter, I have nothing but disdain for Fram filters, poopy junk.

+1 most of the oil filter autopsy's I looked at the Wix was pretty good, FRAM was built like crap. I run K&N in my bikes but I've been using Napa Gold (Wix) in our older car. I did look at Napa's powersport filter for my DRZ because it comes with the O-Ring but the filter was iffy, so I'm using K&N.

I thought of going after wix, I was pretty upset. Unfortunately I didn't think of doing this until after all the evidence was gone. Including pics if anyone wanted them.

If it's a vehicle filter than I'm sure they can weasel their selves out of it.

    Scotts Performance Products

These aren't giveaway filters. Been running one on my 91 for ten or so years. I figured roughly ten oil changes and the think is paid for. Switched from Golden Spectro semi to Rotella.. No problems.

Nothing to wear out. Aerospace machining and no rubber or plastic..all metal. Pretty too! ;) I have cleaned mine with dish detergent, Gunk, and that concentrated degreaser from Wallys cut 100%.

I called Scott's because the ad looked a little too good. The guy on the other end sold me when he told me that every employee in the outfit that had a bike was running one.

I wish I could tell everyone I had 500,000 miles on my bike but that falls into the category of stock VFRs getting 60 mpg and going 175mph.
