2000 needs brake lever replaced--anything I should beware of??

Bought my bike with a bent brake lever. All else is in working condition but I want to replace it. I ordered an OEM from motobikepart.com

I just want to know if there are any little special tricks, traps, or tips I should know before I start working in the thing.

I've never done any work on a bike, but this doesn't seem like a bad first project.

Swapping out a brake lever is very simple. Take a Q-tip and dab a tiny bit of grease on the bushing in the brake lever before you install the lever pivot bolt.
If your lever pivot bolt has an acorn nut on the bottom of it put just a tiny drop of Blue Loctite on the bolt threads after you've screwed the bolt into the handset so that the nut won't vibrate off.
Remember to pump your brake lever a few times to make sure that new lever is operating the master cylinder properly.

Online suppliers like Bike Bandit and others have the same basic info on "fixing" some things. ie on your bent brake lever, fill in the quiery boxes for the info and part (s) #s.

Can't speak for the page on manual downloads. Some are free others aren't. SOS and free is better..
