Ummmm... not yet. Just got to the point of having adjuster from other guy's insurance company come look at it yesterday. It's totally ride-able, but I have to be careful about stopping on steep inclines since I have no rear brake lever... it's pretty flat here in the desert so that's not much of a problem. That should be taken care of soon. With the linked brakes, I don't really need a rear brake for regular riding... so I'm good!!

I'm not even really sure I'm going to repair much except the rear brake lever/rearset (thank you Metallican!!) and the rear fairing. I had been looking at replacing the rear fairing anyway and now I'm glad I didn't. I had backed into a parking space downhill last year. I saw a parking bumper so just let the brake go. I missed the parking bumper, went into a short ditch and hit a concrete wall, and the clips that keep the rear fairing attached to the taillight assembly broke. So, I'll get a new one out of this accident. I can live with the scratches on everything else... I think. I'll see. So far, total estimate is for $1900.00, so if I just do the minimum, I'll make out pretty well monetarily... Lord knows I can use the extra cash in these times!!

Lets see; Chica lies to her employer so she can go see the fast guys at Laguna and texts at the ton. She gets slammed hard enough to do a trip to the ER and instead does lunch and rides back to Vegas where her leg can't be better. This without a rear brake lever.

So now chica is still riding the bike with a busted off rear brake lever and trying to burn the insurance company for another incident unrelated to getting slammed.

The really dumb thing is that she is posting this for all to see. LOL

Maybe the dude that smacked her knows the lawyer who can get his ticket pled down to a parking violation and chica can go on welfare before she offs herself on that bike.

My last roommate was a lawyer, and I can tell you from experience that he didn't spend his free time trolling vfrworld to see if he could save an insurance agent $1000 especially since he was probably charging $500 and hour. Chasing ambulances pays way better, and I think he'd have taken her case quicker, especially with the bruising from those shots we saw. Just a guess of course as I am not a lawyer and don't even play one on tv.

Not to worry, Chica has a lawyer who gets speeding tickets pled down to non moving parking violations. Maybe your ex-roomie could make a few quick bucks doing a will for La Chica. I'm sure there will still be some usable parts on her bike unless she is over the double and gets wasted by a loaded semi.

So did you guys have a deal going on that ambulance biz? My last roomie was an actor. Never again..

only referral I ever gave him was a person who asked me if I knew a lawyer. Otherwise it would be too close to conflict of interest.

An actor eh? I bet that was a hoot...

Lookout California 'cause here I come!!! This weekend I'm heading out to CA again, basically same area as where I got sideswiped a month ago. On the way I will be texting at the ton... or maybe even the double (except I don't know of a VFR that can hit the double... maybe Toe's??)!! This will be happening while my radar detector is beeping and tunes are playing in my helmet!!! I might even be riding with no hands since I purchased a throttle control at MotoGP!! Loaded semi's beware 'cause I'm sure you don't need a fatality and a totaled bike on your record!! Cops, no need to pull me over and ticket me because between my lawyers and cop friends, your hard work will be reduced to a mere parking ticket and fine of less than $100.00. Go chase someone who has no friends to help him out, like BadBilly!!

I'm excited!! This will be my victory ride!!! Friday I will leave work early to go to my last physical therapy session and when I leave there, I'm California bound to show that place I can not be defeated!!!

Oh.... and for all of you insurance companies out there stalking the boards to catch me giving out information so that you don't have to pay me.... you're welcome!!!

When the wintry winds starts blowing
And the snow is starting in the fall
Then my eyes went westward knowing
That's the place that i love best of all
    California i've been blue
Since i've been away from you
    I can't wait 'till i get blowing
Even now i'm starting in a call

    California, Here I Come
Right back where I started from
    where bowers of flowers
    bloom in the spring
    each morning at dawning
    birdies sing at everything
a sunkissed miss said, "Don't be late!"
that's why I can hardly wait
    open up that golden gate
    California, Here I Come

    California, Here I Come (yeaaaaaah!)
Right back where I started from
    where bowers of flowers
    bloom in the spring
    each morning at dawning
    birdies sing at everything
a sunkissed miss said, "Don't be late!"
that's why I can hardly wait (come on!)
open up (open up! open up!) that golden gate
    California, Here I Come

LOL! Nice response chicky. very few have taken on BB and at least matched him at his own game, which he is a genius at. in spite of what some may think of BB, i like the guy as he is a nice reminder of be careful what you say on the net or write your thoughts in a clear manner.

    thanks again for the laugh.

Yep, I read it and it didn't quite seem at the time to be "fixed" coupled with some attempt to hustle the insurer for another oopsie into a wall.

"I'm not even really sure I'm going to repair much except the rear brake lever/rearset (thank you Metallican!!) and the rear fairing. IMO, la chica, before somebody scrapes her off the pavement for not having "respect" for a bike might want to take those bucks from the insurance scam and save it to pay her next premium when all this shit catches up with her.

Thing is BB, that while I appreciate your gentlemanly concern for me and getting involved in my business to make sure that someone who lives 400 miles away from me provides me with a rear brake lever that he doesn't even have since his bike is a 5th gen and mine a 6th when I already obtained one and replaced it myself.... awww why bother wasting my time on this one?

Basically, I have found that you generally do not read posts for clarity and make assumptions that are unfounded. I typically am over here laughing at the conclusions you draw based on your own misinformation. If you actually got the information straight and didn't pretend you are in control or pretend you know what you're talking about, I might just take you seriously. If you have a run of comments that are actually on target and even slightly constructive, maybe I'll pay attention to your senseless rants... until then, just know that I find you very entertaining as your confusion is priceless and your assumptions and apparent bluffs at pretending to know what's going on are the most humorous things I've seen in a long time. I DO have a couple questions for you... What to YOU ride? And WHERE do you ride? It seems to me as if you are just a nobody with no purpose and no motorcycle and no rides and no life... and again that is quite humorous to me.... and really... quite sad at the same time... it seems you have made VFRW your life... do you actually DO anything besides troll on VFRW? Oh right, you probably troll other boards as well... ah, the life of a troll... well, I will go on actually LIVING my life and you can judge me if you will. I'm cool with that and will continue to enjoy the entertainment provided by your misguided and incorrectly drawn conclusions.... I have never been one to care what anyone thinks about me or the way I live my life... so rant on my humorous friend... I look forward to the laughs!!

Oh, and BZ... you're welcome, however that post was truly not meant to "take on" BB... it was just me laughing at the ridiculousity of all of the claims. I thought I would just put it all together and make it a visual story for my trip to CA this weekend. 'Cause really, it's all true... I WILL be doing all of those things while riding and will be having a great time doing it all!! If I happen to beat him or at least match him at his game it was entirely done unwittingly... but, I'm glad to hear you enjoyed reading about my plans for the ride!!!

Aw thanks Crusty!!! Metalican, there is no one here that is on my bad side... no one... not even BB.... I don't take anything personally, life is way too short for that and I am way too secure in myself to care what anyone says or thinks. I just look at it, see the ridiculous humor and laugh... really....

However, I DO truly believe in the idea of treating others as you wish to be treated, but I take it a step further. I look at how people treat me and other people, and I figure if that's the way they treat others, then that must be the way they want to be treated, so I happily oblige. Plain and simple....

I for one am glad Metalican didn't sacrifice his rear brake lever in some misguided act of chivalry. I'd hate to think there were two of anyone riding around without both front and rear brakes being functional, proportional or not.

Sorry bout the paucity of personal info, but if ya look closely, one pic of my trusty 91 is in the pix section. Your comments on that bike are certainly welcome. The shot was made about three years ago on the link road to Mary's Peak a few miles from Philomath, Oregon. Right now the road is closed for repairs until mid September.

So how much did you stiff your insurer for on damages? Keep us all posted on how much your next premium is going to be. try not to carry too much guilt about this, it's not really unusual and it happens all the time. What you might not be aware of is that insurers, if they want or need too can find out things about folks, that even they don't know.

Does a trip to the library and WalMart count as where else I ride?

The rest I'm afraid you'll just have to make up, guess about or do without. BRB it's time for my Oprah re-runs.
