long story short the motor took a shit, more details are here, http://vfrworld.com/forums/mechanic...ce-big-time-1st-gen-vf500f-tappet-screws.html.

pretty much everything else on the bike is in good condition.
some of the better/new items on it would be:
F2 shock conversion from JD - roughly 500 miles since installation
new brakes and rotors - less than 500 miles
bridgestone battleax bt45 tires - less than 1000 miles, no noticeable wear on them

if you have any questions or are interested in anything from the bike feel free to PM or send me an email - sjona2011@gmail.com
anything that you are interested in just make me an offer, worst i can say is no

Thanks for post. I appreciate the offer but I think I'll pass on these. You may try listing on eBay for a wider audience.

On a side note, bummer to hear about your bike after all the work you and your father have put into it.

It is a sad day when another 500 heads to the motorcycle boneyard.

    Good luck with the sale.

Be patient with him guys, this is his first bike and he really doesn't know what the value of this stuff is so if you think his price is steep, then don't be afraid to make an offer of your own. The worst he can say is no. He's kind of in a dilemma because he wants to cut you guys a good deal but at the same time figuring out how to do so without screwing himself.

Sorry im using my phone to visit the forum and the stupid thing like to auto spell words that it thinks I might of misspelled. The carb insulators are what go between the carbs and the heads and holds them to the heads via clamps I tore one of mine when removing my carbs if yours are in good shape I would like to buy them.

......and another one bites the dust after lots of effort, exasperation, frustration, family bonding & some cash.

Yes, the locknuts need to be very tight.

VF 500s........ either love 'em or have better sense.
