Tonight I was installing a speedohealer and in the process of lifting the tank this thing popped up. Oops. I know it's the vent tube, but it looks like it plugs in somewhere.

Anybody have a clue where this goes?

It connects to another vacuum hose and goes to the charcoal canister I believe. I'm too lazy right now to look at a fische.

Your cereal killer gloves are scaring away the children.

Ha! You're missing the same metal spacer on the two bolt holes like mine.

Its a vent that runs down to the ground look around the fairings if all else fails feel around the bottom of the bike if you feel the hose pull it out and refeed through.

+1 on Matt's response. My fiche isn't specific, other than the hose that connects to a plastic elbow is a vent/drain and connects to another hose. Gotta be in there somewhere.

Hey Kelly the Serial killer with the weird gloves on,
When you start calibrating the speedohealer, start with -9.4, that's what mine is and we have the same tires because you finally saw the light and copied me.

Haha! Those are Nitrile gloves. I didn't notice they were black until I opened them.

Looks like I am pulling the rest of the farking fairings off.

Gotta find my spacer and the missing tube. The tube boinged out like a rubber band and I thought, "That's not good."

Okies, I will give it a shot. Debating on whether to go ahead and replace the chain and sprockets while I am at it. I have had them for a year. Remember when we did the all-nighter to get the CBR ready for the track and second gear was out in the used motor I bought. Then I decided to take the Viffer to the track, but I needed a new chain. The set from Sprocket Center hadn't arrived yet, so I ran down to Cycle Gear and bought just the chain for more than the set was from Sprocket Center. I was not pleased with that...

Found it! You can barely see the tube just inside the frame.

It's on the left side. This does not go to a canister, it just wraps around the engine (why Honda, why?) and vents to atmosphere underneath the bike. Perhaps it's because my bike is not a California model? There is no canister.

all bikes had the canister, most take it off when doing the oil change as it is in the way of the filter and never put it back on.
I have one if you want it along with all the pair crap. :vtr2:

Like Matt and I said - it's not a hose that goes (or would go) to a canister. The *one* hose that comes off the tank and goes through an 'elbow' is a vent/drain hose, and just vents to the atmosphere (as you've discovered). Plug it in and go!

Yeah, I looked in my service manual. Now that I know what I am looking for it's clear.

My 1998 service manual does show the evap canister, but it was for California type only. Look on pages 1-40 and 1-41.
