every state has their share of "blue" laws, what is your point?

How do you go thru life so unbelievably miserable? I have bad days, but you just seem really, really unhappy on a permenent basis. It has to be just horrible to go thru life that way. Yuo and db

I did not realize I would get such a flaming reaction.

The cities, counties ,state, and federal governments say they are all broke now.
So every group is looking for money.
Every time I go to the grocery store I get asked for a donation going in or out of the store. I get asked for a donation inside the store at the check out too.
I get asked for donations in the mail constantly.
    I get emailed for donations.
    I just am donated out.

Dude. Like your guesswork about California having laws against whatever you were trying to get across in your babble, I just posted some real laws on the books. This seem to get you going and get you guessing about more and more when what you really know ain't worth much. The whole world has blue laws and once again you have not posted anything that most people with normal awareness didn't already know.

So with all these "friends" you have accumulated on whatever site has them, would you want any of them to have your PIN # or keys to your house? I don't think so.

Just to make you feel good. I don't kick puppies or old ladies. See if you can work with that.

If you really want to get down, what you can do is prove by some means that what Don has posted isn't fact or that he might be delusional or paranoid. That ain't gonna happen is it?

For those bad days, try Midol.

What guesswork, I just didn't know if it was local or state, the suggestion is either way to look at what applies where you live, since it may in fact be stricter than state law anyway, it makes sense to look at what applies where one lives. For CA state stuff:

    for door to door Salesperson
"Business and Professions Code section 17500.3

A salesperson who telephones you or visits your home to sell you something must first tell you his or her name, company and product, and, before anything else, explain that the purpose of the contact is to sell you something.

If the salesperson visits you at your home, the salesperson also must display identification when he or she first comes to the door.

If the salesperson intentionally does not do these things, you may have a right to recover a penalty of twice the sales price or $250, whichever is greater. The Attorney General, or the county's district attorney, can also maintain a law enforcement action against the salesperson (and possibly the business he or she represents) and recover a penalty of up to $2,500 for each violation.
    "

    Charitable Solicitor
"Business and Professions Code section 17510.3

A charitable solicitor must present a card or other printed material that identifies the soliciting organization and the solicitor. This must be done before the solicitor seeks a charitable contribution or sale for a charitable purpose. The card or printed material must identify the charity, explain how the money solicited will be used for charitable purposes, and provide certain tax and accounting information.

An unpaid volunteer who is making charitable solicitations can instead disclose the name and address of the charity; the charitable purpose of the solicitation; and the fact that information about the charity, its revenues and expenses, and its administration and fundraising costs, can be obtained at an address that is disclosed. An unpaid volunteer who is 18 or younger, and who is soliciting on behalf of a tax-exempt charity, is not required to make these disclosures. A commercial fundraiser, prior to making a solicitation for charitable purposes, must disclose the commercial fundraiser's name, and the fact that the solicitation is being made by a commercial fundraiser for charitable purposes.
    "

See how those actually apply to the topic?

A sudden rash of door to door solicitations is unlikely to be caused by one signing up for fb. I and many others have been on for a long time, and have never ever experienced that. Or something even close to that. Nor does it seem a terribly efficient use of resources.

As for my PIN number, to what, I have many.
Keys for my house, don't need them. I don't carry one, so why would one of my friends?
You just need a combination for my front door a registered thumb print for my garage to house door. As to if anyone I am connected to on fb has a combination, the answer is yes, maybe half a dozen or more. There are probly 20 or 30 more, maybe even more than that, that I would give a combination to if they ever needed it. That is the nice thing about not having a key based lock, I can give it over the phone or via email to someone who needs to get in while I am not here.

At the Tahoe house the combination really comes in handy, and a lot more than half a dozen have that combination.

But really, whether a person is on fb or not, what does a key to their home have to do with it?

You don't accumulate friends on fb, follow me here, you earn friends in life along the way. If you think of your friends, if there are any, as things you accumulate, well that says a lot now, doesn't it?

name one non-profit going theur the trouble of getting a list of new members of fb, then getting addresses, then sending that info to local branches and then sending people to those house -- it just defies logic.

And it sounds like you need to increase your Midol and/or get some happy pills. Cause whatever you are doing isn't working...

If you weren't guessing why did you preface the entire blather stating so? Kind of like a cat in sandbox covering up a dump. One of the really fine things about the net is the ability to call up exact quotes. Do we really need to pull that one up?

Do you really think I was serious about anyone giving out thier PIN or housekeys? LOL

IMO you could go into business or become the official "Goods Samaritan" for the whole state by introducing legislation and providing bigass signs to be hung and permanently attached to every dwelling in the state with all that stuff you just looked up and posted.

Were you aware that in Japan the car salesmen go door to door?

Personally I'd settle for some pix of the dudes coming to the door shlepping shit that nobody wants after Don whacks them with his new stun gun.

So since you are in the mood for explaining things, what exactly, in as few words as possible, the value of sites like FB? Lord Mercy, I hope you ain't hooked up with any of those low-life harleydoods.

When FB got going, there were teenyboppers having contests to see who could attract the most "friends". More than a few attracted "friends" that no one in their right minds would want to be within a mile of thier kids.

Are you "friends" with Tila Tequila. She's hot if you like chicas that go for other chicas.

I hope by your ramblings you are not one who is convinced that because a system is extant or in play a given system is not without faults. That does not only defies, it negates logic.

Dude, you are stuck in the sandbox.

    Don,

I don't know what has happened when you joined FB. I joined a few years ago but really don't use it. I find nothing interesting in there. And I can't remember what I did or what I posted as far as information goes. But I am sure I used my full name. And I have not really had any problem other than I get the odd notification that someone I have as a friend is having a birthday or that I have not visited them for a while. I love the delete button. Did I actually say I had a friend? I am delusional. Must be Face book causing this.

They are watching me you know. They also know Metalican and where he lives.

    Randy,

It's all in the avatar. Now if you had one of those cute getups like Spike has in his, I am certain you would gather friends from far and wide. Currently with just a pic of your bike, you might be mistaken for one of those outlaw bikers or a harleydood.

Tried to warn you guys didn't I,
    Didn't I !!!!!

At least BB has now also seen the light!

It is no coincidence that Farce Book starts with the sixth letter of the alphabeth.......

"Woe to you o earth and sea
for the devil sends the beast with wrath
because he knows the time is short
Let him whom has understanding reckon the number of the beast
for it is a human number
its number is six hundred and sixty six......" (Iron Maiden, Circa ...AD)

Told you so! Told you so! but you did not want to listen, did you!!!

There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Fire and Brimstone, Fire and Brimstone is now upon ye o unbelievers!

Oops! my glass is empty, be right back with more inspirational words......

Probably. The Insider's only forum has a thread with all the chika fotos that show too much skin for the rest of the kids.

AND you get the extra large private message box to chat with all your friends.

I almost forgot; since it's solicitations that seem to be the objection, Insider status also strips out the advertisements since you're already paying for content.

If this post is considered solicitation, maybe Insider status strips it out? You won't know unless you're an Insider. But if you're an Insider, this post might not be there to know what you're missing?

So is 666 the limit of Friends anyone can have on FB or do they have to make a pact with Satan or send Zuckerberg a donation for bigger numbers? IMO, if I was running the show, I'd branch out to Fuzzbook for LEO's and Fagbook for the gay dudes, Inyourfacebook for controversial subjects, T&Abook for you know what, Psychobook for letting it all hang out, and Trickortweetbook for those who like short versions of everything including midget group gropes.
